I know a lot of you are angry at the club for not getting the striker that was "100%" promised a couple of weeks ago and rightly so but has Pardew actually said anything yet to try and explain the shambles that was transfer deadline day?

If I was him I'd quit because he's not to blame at all.

No, I wouldn't quit. I would stay and do well in spite of Ashley

If Pardew quit, we'd be really really in the ****. Never thought I'd say that. But seriously, nobody would take the job if even Pardew couldn't stick it.

I mean I think the poor guy must be so embarissed that he made that "100% over the line" comment in regards to the striker that he can't face the fans.

There is always somebody. We are one of the biggest teams in England - not as big as Man Utd etc. but we are massive

Although, we wouldn't get anybody of that higher calibre. We would probably give some other cockney bastard the job :(

Feel bad for Pardew really. He'll want to keep his job and yet if he speaks out against the owners he's gone and if he stands by them a load of fans call him a puppet. He'll have to continue what he's always done which is make vague statements or keep contradicting himself every interview to try keep everybody happy.

I like Pardew and I think he's done a good job so far.

We might be a big club but being Ashleys scapegoat won't appeal to any manager with an ounce of dignity. Cue the return of Sam Allardyce...

Pardews the best bet we've got im afraid. Ashley won't sack him so there'll be at least some level of stability

Still reckon Kinnear did a good job and would have kept us up if not for his unfortunate heart attack. Although that's mainly cause I reckon any of the four managers we had that season could have kept us up without all the chopping and changing.

OT: Really feel bad for Pardew in light of the excellent job he's doing on the pitch and his complete lack of backing off of it.
