diddums, a forum is where posters are normally allowed to disagree.

You really should learn to stick to the subjects without constant whining.

Fortunately the UK elected government agrees with me that the referendum result means leaving the EU.

"The UK will require a considerable level of immigration over the next several decades to keep the economy afloat."

You may remember I posted this and asked for a comment several pages ago. The reply that came from SH was "You really need to ask the person / organisation that made the statement to justify it. You have already been fooled by much of the project fear so far."

The quote actually came from Tim Martin this week, the boss of Wetherspoons. He hasn't changed his tune over the past year, since he sat in front of a committee in Westminister and told them that immigration would have to be severely reduced, but that his company would need exempting from that. In the same statement this week, he said that he would have to put his prices up in the coming months, despite previously saying they would go down. He has committed to building new hotels and pubs in Dublin, while at the same time is saying that he will be closing pubs in England. Clearly a man who despite all that he spewed out on beer mats, knows that he needs to build on his EU businesses.

His statement that some immigration will be required is consistent with the views of most leavers. Unlike now it will be for the UK government to decide not Brussels. Most businesses put their prices up annually to keep pace with inflation. What he actually said the other day is that the EU is a protectionist organisation that keeps shop prices artificially high. He suggested prices would fall post Brexit when the UK will be able to reduce tariffs on food etc which will help the less well off. Businesses close open / move outlets all the time. His business just announced record profits. I'm sure the Irish have a need for his well priced unique brand.

Well I bet that is wrong......... the only things that currently keep food prices down is EU subsidies.

Lets have a synopsis of your views SH.... you just seem to keep not doing so...

    Give us your Brexit plan.....

A man who has created thousands of jobs and provides a great service for the less well off. My only gripe against his has been the manky carpet in his Berkhamsted branch. Thankfully the Crown has just re-opened after a several months refit. The group plans to open 10 pubs in this financial year, all in the UK.

I think we have learnt who is a fan of Wetherspoon pubs even if the carpet is not up to standard.

You obviously have not been paying attention.

I would put the remainer timid civil servants back in their place and fully recognise the EU are looking to frustrate Brexit. This would mean no ransom being paid until a sensible trade deal is agreed. I would reinstate David Davis and Steve Baker as lead negotiators. As part of the ERG Group they have already published a plan to solve the Irish border issues.
This is the only credible plan at the moment. I'm sure the EU will not continue to self harm for very long.

My wife takes the grandchildren there frequently for lunch treats, great value. I might venture in there now the standard has undoubtedly risen. I much prefer the scruffy Goat for its excellent music nights, also an abundance of really good restaurants in town.

I don't think you were being asked what you would like to happen, that is very different from producing a workable plan that can be agreed in the next few weeks.

I'm not sure the EU are ready to negotiate properly yet until the no deal no ransom message is rammed down their throats.
