New Zealand 34 v South Africa 36!!! Where did that come from? I need to watch something on YouTube from this game. Apparently, SA defended their lead well, and cashed in on NZ errors. How will NZ react at altitude in the return in a few weeks time? Such is the NZ way they had opportunites to win via a drop goal but they prefer to win via tries. I would imagine in a WC they would go for a drop goal. From a rugby perspective, NZ need competiton, and they would rather it came from SA whom they have a fantastic respect for, rather than the Aussies or England. Better to get a defeat out of the way now, and then when they come in the autumn, show their Six Nations opponents why they are World Champions. Well done SA. Pride is coming back into their game.
Wow. Looks like GB may end up holding all three Cycling Grand Tour titles in one year. I wonder if that is unprecedented? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/45535153
Certainly is in a calendar year, although of course Chris Froome held them all simultaneously when he won the Giro in May, having won the Tour and Vuelta last year. Great for Simon Yates though!
The next big thing in GB tennis?... this year's Wimbledon Boys runner up, Jack Draper has just won his first senior tournament and becomes the only 16 year old in the top 1,000... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/45534945
A complete and utter cruise for Lewis. Not a great GP, and the Championship fight will be over sooner rather than later at this rate.
Got to admit, I got bored and switched over to watch the Climbing Championships on BBC Sport. New event for the Olympics in 2020, really enjoyable and really impressive from the athletes taking part.
