I wasn't happy when that film came out because of the name. <laugh>. I'm not homophobic but, c'mon if you're going to call a film Milk at least make it about some James Bond like character instead... <whistle>

Anyone watching Ozark season 2? Several episodes in... I don't like it as much as season 1 yet... Still worth watching if you like that kind of thing.

I watched all of Jack Ryan on Amazon prime.

Was waiting a while for it. 8.4 on IMDB.

    I would say

    A) it was layered well with various subplots that linked to main plot.

    B) the plot twists were good, it was reasonably well disguised.

    C) it was reasonably well shot and decently cast. Though the Jack Ryan chosen... not sure he was right.

    D) there were issues with plot. In the main it was about the villain and the contrast between risks taken and his supposed genius. 80% of it was genius but 20% was absolute why the ****... come on stuff.

    E) most of all I found the family angle just... well... it was so central to plot and just stupid to me.

More than anything though...... I'm comparing this to what the main networks have now done and how long it took to get this out.

Seal team on sky for example beats the **** out of it all day long for action and "realism" but Ryan has the plot.

Not sure id give it 8.5 here..... I'd say 7.5

I've been avoiding it... I read the books which were largely cold war... then Alec Baldwin/Harrison Ford films that took the only books in series that could be done well.... the Chris Pine and Affleck films were ****e so .... as I said nervous about watching it as it was always being "updated" ...

It was ok... thats all I can say, I wanted to see what would happen etc etc... but not blown away by it.

It was also only 8 episodes so just why the **** I had to wait 18months for it I don't know

Read an interesting piece on how they'll integrate the X Men into the MCU based on the thing that happens to Vision at end of Infinity War... I don't remember but apparently Stark set it up in a convo in Iron Man 3 about an empty spot in human beings minds.

I see there's been major reshoots on Dark Phoenix after bad reactions at screenings.

The whole X-Men thing is a mess compared to Avengers, they had a clear path from early on with Avengers but X-Men is all over the place. It would be good to see them join in the Infinity War though.

I hope they do a good job of the current Deadpool, Cable, New Mutants, X-Force. So far so good.

I realise staying in is the new going out - some of us were way ahead of the curve - but Saturday night 9pm on BBC1 is not generally seen as must-see TV, especially at this time of year, when it's more Stephen Mulhearn doing some lo-fi comedy skit with Ant and Dec on Xtra Factor, or a jungle eviction or somesuch.

But who'da thought the Fleabag girl would come up with a top top drama with Killing Eve? And it had touches of Fleabag humour, too.

I liked Crashing more than Fleabag. Couldn't get into Fleabag. The popularity of Fleabag probably means there won't be any more Crashing though.

    xmen came too soon almost.

they imo followed a decent pheonix storyarch from the comics and did 3... then went oh... we killed off s lot of characters so they followed a wolverine storyarch. which was good but had issues.

then they got cheeky cos they left a heap of classic characters out of first movie and completely redid the movies and from there it becomes a total.mess.

the avengers/thor/guardians movies have all followed supposedly one grand plot over time (they have not really but how and ever at this point they do.)

the real issue for.me is thor ragnarok was brilliant and then almost instantly they destroy it in the start of infinity wars. that was messy.
