Mark Lawrenson's predicted us to lose

I guess at some point we should send him a gift for making wins a mere formality for us, but then we remember he lives in a parallel universe where joy does not exist so he'd likely burn it for heresy...

On the BBC site, he has predicted a 1-1 score.

A lot of ex Liverpool in the media seem to be going for a draw.

Blame FootballFanCast: they said it was Lawrenson in their article (several times, in fact) when it was actually Paul Merson in Sky's predictions.

I have no idea how they confused the two...

I just can’t see anything but a Liverpool win today. I’m just hoping it’s not a hiding.

I have no doubt at all that we’re gonna see slow ponderous attacks with our wider players trying to find Kane constantly, who will be slow in his movement, isolated meaning he drops deeper, and often marked by 2 centre backs.
The threat that Kane has gained a reputation for is being nullified at the moment, partly due to defences knowing what he’s capable of and doubling up on him, and also due to the way he is currently playing (whether that’s fatigue, or the impact of his injury last season).

We’ve got to find a way of being much more potent in attack and taking our chances today, because Liverpool will hurt us on the break. They won’t need many chances to put the game to bed.

I don’t know whether Son will start today, but if he does, him and Moura are going to be vital. If it’s just the latter, I wonder if we’re gonna have enough in attack at the moment to cause a strong Liverpool defence any problems at all.

Eriksen also needs to really step up today. We need a “Denmark” performance from him.

Not looking forward to this one at all.

Michael Oliver is the referee, we`ve got no chance then.

Every time I see Oliver referee a game involving Pool he always turns in a one sided display in Pool`s favour (like the majority of referees to be fair).

  9. Thought the same, but the stats bizarrely don't support that. (See PNP's post)
Probably be proven right (or wrong) today! <laugh>

I hate these bloody early kick offs. I'm hoping that Winks starts. They're going to come at us and we need to keep the ball as much as possible in the first 15 minutes. Maybe the day for 5-3-2 with HK and Lucas 'up top' and Mousa, Winks and Eriksen in the 3. Sonny to come on in the second half?

Anyway, I'm gonna shout myself hoarse. COYS!

What is with all of these negative vibes? If you go out thing that you are going to lose you will. Be positive, loads of the mousers have had to fly back from all over the globe this week and even though they chartered a private plane from South America, it takes at least a week to recover fully from such a trip, I know, I travel long haul regularly. If Lamela is fit, he will give van Dick a hard time, he's too quick for him. If they have a weakness it's their full backs and we have Sonny and Lucas to run riot. Don't get me wrong, I expect the mousers to score, I just expect that we will score more than them. We all need to turn up, but hey-ho, so do they.

I think most predictions tend to reflect the mood of the predictor rather than the actual prospects of the game. Predicting football is impossible anyway, just look at the last two Spurs games for example. It's not surprising after the Watford game that Spurs fans are a bit pessimistic. Who will turn up? Spurs or Liverpool who suffer from the same syndrome?
The logical prediction is a draw but when did logic figure in football?
I am looking forward to this mess of emotions it usually turns out a decent football match.

Am on my own for this one.
Watched "The Lane" film about WHL and the film of our Finale at White Hart Lane. So many tear marker moments...One Danny Thomas...UEFA Cup win with Tony Parks, Hoddles leaving goal but most of Fabrice Muwamba (excuse spelling).

I am very lucky as an old bastard to have brilliant kids and a fantastic better half plus a job I like...but when I was a kid living with my arse of a mother's child beating bastard husband it was Spurs that gave me hope and somewhere to belong as well as somewhere to escape to.

We weren't good but I was Spurs and spurs were me.

When my son died in the 1990s my world died with him. When I got with Mrs RCL a couple of years later she brought me back from a dark world and actively encouraged me to fall in love with spurs as well as her...
(Was a bit cross with her during the Gross and Bloke in a Coat years mind <laugh>)

She encouraged me to escape into football land and let me introduce the girls the life as a spur knowing all the pain they'd endure!!!!!

She saved money so I could get a memorial tree for my son so I have somewhere to go on his birthday (back then if your kid died at birth they did not issue a birth certificate so you got no funeral) ...she encouraged me, then made me go to a spurs v liverpool match in November 2008 (on the day before the anniversary) so it would be like I was taking him to a match...that was 14 years after he died and sitting on my own watching that match at the lane brought me a lot of closure and hugely lessened my guilt.

This (along with all the fab footballing memories) is why I will always support the club through thick and thin...(they did it for me as a kid and an adult)

So bollocks to spending nothing...bollocks to selling players...bollocks to losing to Watford and losing today...bollocks to the late stadium...bollocks to no trophies...

    COOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMME
    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNN
    YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUU
    SPUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I am in block 113 entrance F...will scream myself hoarse to make up for my girls not being with me.

    Update:

After not being in the best shape this morning, I’m now regretting putting jeans on instead of shorts. Got a massive case of Betty swallocks on this train.

Blame it on Spurs/ Wembley, mate. If we were at WHL, I’d be able to walk home and change! Lol.
