God yeah, that was a horror show, that game. Went to see the pub to watch that one, about this time last year? Sort of set the tone for the rest of the season, having all that optimism evaporate like that.
I dislike, not the right word, I want to beat Brighton more than when we play B'mouth. That's how I feel.
Hughes has been praising Murray for his old style attributes. One of those attributes will be getting on Cedric’s shoulder for crosses, so hopefully we are on it.
Whilst there were worst results under MP, that game was probably my low point. To not even make an attempt to beat Brighton at home, with the side so desperate for a win...
I went to that game and it had been my first since Watford at home... I couldn’t believe how horrible it all was. The players looked devoid of any idea and the crowd were awful from the first minute. I remember Jack hitting a pass into nobody early on and the crowd going mad. They stayed mad. The players were a bag of nerves from the start. All the people I’d sat with before had turned from friendly people into raging loons! Then the new 20m hero came on at half time...
That was certainly the moment for me when he'd lost me forever. I doubt we'll ever see a more cowardly team selection at home to a relegation rival.
Last Saturday I met up with my Stoke supporting mate, for the first time since they were relegated. The bitterness towards Hughes was incredible, from someone who had hated Pulis to the extent that he wouldn’t say his name and from someone who had sung Hughes’ praises for getting Stoke to play something akin to football. Long forgotten were their three best ever finishes in the Premier League and Hughes was marked down as knowing nothing about football. He doesn’t wish Saints any ill will, but he hopes Hughes loses every game. I hope we win big on Monday.
I’ve been sent a £6.50 food voucher from the club because I took up the offer to bring a friend to the game for £15. Nice work Saints.
I think I’d find moving house pretty relaxing compared to having to watch saints for 90 mins under MP2.
Always liked Brighton the place, and had a soft spot for the football team, possibly as a consequence. Bournemouth ditto. There is only one centre of evil on the south coast, only one Mordor; and only one South Coast derby, as far as I'm concerned.
