'He will make us better' - Klopp explains Fabinho plans Jürgen Klopp explained why only circumstances have prevented Fabinho from making his Liverpool debut as he insisted the plan is for the Brazilian to make the team better. The summer signing has yet to feature for the Reds since the season started as the manager kept faith with a settled side in winning four successive games before the international break. But at his preview for Saturday’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Klopp opened up on the factors involved in the situation and stressed his belief in Fabinho’s potential. “I don’t like to compare players but, to be honest, we had similar questions and similar things to talk about around Robbo and about Ox,” said the boss. “The thing is, it’s absolutely no problem. I don’t like the situation; it’s not that I like to say to Fabinho, who is full of energy and desire and wants to be involved, ‘you are not involved this weekend’. That’s not nice, it’s only the job to do sometimes. “We have players that worked together now for much longer; he comes from another league, a completely different system which Monaco played, to us. We have a good team together so that takes time. “But the plan was, and is still, that he will make us better. That’s what we are working on. That sometimes needs more time, sometimes a bit less. “From my point of view, it’s all fine. I know the situation is not like maybe a few people would have expected but sorry, I cannot change that.” https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/316325-jurgen-klopp-fabinho-liverpool
What he means is, the French league is piss poor aside for 2 teams, so doesn't require great levels of fitness. Fact is he's come to the most physically demanding leagues with a team that plays a physically demanding style. Its going to take time to get used to the demands.
I expect he and Shaqiri might play against Southampton, or in the league cup game vs Chelsea. We will definitely need to rotate at some point this month.
Gini Wijnaldum has revealed he spoke to Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino about a possible switch before joining Liverpool. Then a bigger club came for me. Wao!.
yes it has to be. plus his dodgy hair... seriously.. He's be fired for thst if I was manager we have enough players in numbers but if one just isn't contributing as he keeps getting injured? he's got to go at some point.
how long is his contract left? we wont get rid of him if he cant get fit, just run his contract down like every other fecker
Don't think anyone (bar Jimmy) is writing him off just yet, but he's got a lot of work to do to get back in the side
yeah that's fair. he is contracted to 2020. so he has this year and next. he is 30. maybe at some point he might decide to move for games... as in next summer. if he has any sense he would see this year put and see where he gets to with klopp and then move cos a decent contract with a prem.club should be possible thst will be longer than he would get the following year.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur look set to go head-to-head in the transfer market once again to land Nicolo Barella from Cagliari.
Barcelona are reportedly interested in sealing the transfer of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who is said to be ‘desperate’ to leave Anfield, according to Don Balon. This comes as something of a surprise considering the Egypt international’s superb start to life at Liverpool, with the Reds generally looking on the up as they emerge as serious Premier League and Champions League contenders this season.
