OFH I guess you meant in ten games in the "Premiership"
In the old first division we beat them 5-0 at home in 1985 I believe, the same year we put five past Chelsea and Tottenham away from
Ohhhhhhh if only we could repeat that this year

Yes I did fall into the trap that nothing existed before the EPL. I have clarified it. :emoticon-0100-smile

Did you know - Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has only saved 50% of the shots on target he's faced this season - the lowest figure in the top flight.

And we have the highest ratio of goals from shots (9 goals from 48 shots) so far.

5-1. The only thing I remember about the whole game was assisting in stretchering off Luther Blissett that night... going round behind the old Main Stand and shuffling him into the Doctor's office and onto his treatment table and waiting for the professional paramedics to turn up for hand-over. The doctor who came in was a certain Dr Dore who was a GP at the South Oxhey surgery: a big, rotund, whisky breath and ***-ash Doc! How times have changed!
I was on the back page of rupert murdoch's rag next morning....
Couldn't tell you who scored, when, how exciting the game was (hang on, we beat Man Utd 5-1, how exciting could it possibly be?) or pretty much anything!

Another settled side/squad which will help again.

Sounds like GD isn't quite fully fit yet.

  9. Four games four wins and now it's Manchester United at home.

    Just let that sink in.

What is worrying is that many bookies have us down to win. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

  11. <laugh> A few pubs I know have a game called last man standing. You pick a different premier league team to win every week and, if you as it says, the last person in wins. A couple of my mates have picked us to win which worries me!

Make no mistake, I want Watford to properly smash 'em! It is not outside the realms of possibility.

For the first time in the Premiership I feel reasonably confident
I always think we can win every game
But now we appear to have the right squad with the right manager, a bit of strengthening in January and a top ten finish is realistic

Duggie you forgot the screamer from Yannie, and the two shots by Pereyra from a narrow angle as he drives into the box, and Hughes picking up a bad clearance and putting it low in the righthand corner.

So 14 on-targets. OFH says we get 50% so that is 7. So I predict we win 7-1 and go top of the table :emoticon-0157-sun:

ps. As many have said we all know the bubble will burst but I'm for sure enjoying it while it lasts <cheers><cheers><cheers><cheers> Haven't seen the local Spurs fan here for 2 weeks. Very odd

    If only
I would be happy with a scrappy 1-0 win it is too early in the season to go top

The mystery is (for all teams) why players can pass the ball 50 yards with pinpoint accuracy, and 10-20 yards under pressure, with a success rate of 80-90 % , but shoot with a success rate of well under 20 %. WFC are currently the best at converting shots to goals (9 goals from 48) in the league. THE BEST - and only 18% success! I think it's because it's ll power when they shoot, and accuracy when they pass. If they could train themselves to think accuracy first (and practise it relentlessly until it's second nature to find the corners of he goal, thereby removing the goalkeeper from the equation) we would win games where we are second best in other departments ! Not that it seems necessary just now.
