No public comment from #cafc on Fawaz Al-Hasawi but been told no chance of a deal happening. Blowing a NDA within 24 hours isn't exactly the way to get things off on the right footing.

I thought I read yesterday on Charlton Life that NLA posted this was definitely going to happen.
Isn't NLA trusted for the reliability of his information?

Perhaps I am mistaken. I only read it once, and briefly.

All things considered, I would still rather have Fawaz as owner than Two Sh1ts.

NLA said that he had no source for this information, he just thought it would be a Charlton sort of thing to happen. In other words a wild guess.

We expect that sort of behaviour from the Australian camp.

If Peter Varney is going to be the new Chairman under the ownership of Fawaz Al-Hazawi then bring it on.
Bring it on anyway to be honest. Hazawi is highly unlikely to be as bad as RD.
And presumably the Hazawi regime won't be needing the services of Richard Murray.

Maybe Rick Everitt will get a job at the Club again as well. You never know.

Five years without a relegation is Hazawi's record at Forest.
It would be a fine thing if Charlton Athletic could go five years without a relegation. That hasn't happened since 2005.

I know. I'm nowhere near as good at it as you are.
But seriously, I say give the guy a chance. He is rolling in cash at least, and he isn't scared to spend it by all accounts.

I doubt he would be enough of a mean-spirited old skin-flint to deny CAFC workers a bonus they worked in good faith for, or make the academy kids buy their own breakfasts.

I shouldn't think Al-Hazawi "drinks from the tap".

You did, and NorthLondonAddick seems to be very solid with his info.

He has been in the past.

Not sure if NLA was that convinced to be honest. As far as the ex Forest guy taking over is concerned, I'll give him the same amount of slack as I gave Karel Fraeye. His card is very badly marked by the Forest fans (one of them has listed his failings on CL - he reckons he'll be better than RD and that's about as good as it gets), and after watching Roland and Katrien repeatedly saying they had learnt from their mistakes, the chance to go through that again is less than appealing.
I don't even believe the stuff that this has already fallen through as fawaz couldn't respect a simple NDA. I'm sure if the money is there Roland won't care about a couple of photo's of nawaz checking the double glazing at the Valley.

Edit: I can't even be bothered to get his name right or use capital letters.

The difference this time is that he followed up by saying that he doesn't have any info on this potential buyer. Not to say that he must be wrong, but he has had a solid source in the past, but not in this case.

I personally think that Fawaz al-Hazawi would at least open his wallet & provide us with some quality players. We’re going to be stretched come the New Year if we are seriously going to push for promotion.

He sounds a bit risky, but with Roland it's more than a risk, the club is being killed by apathy. The Aussie bid is a joke, so any interest in buying the club must be welcome. That's all it is, interest.
