Seems you're right, Marcus. The serving of notice is the first step in sacking hom and a precursor to legal action. I hope they sue the kernt!

Sid, this is a tweet from someone who appears to know what they are talking about

For non-lawyers, a repudiation is an indication of an unwillingness to perform prior to performance of the contract being due. The potential non-performance must relate to all obligations, or a condition. The decision by SAFC to terminate the contract turns the repudiation into an anticipatory breach, which allows the club to commence proceedings for damages. The breach would be a breach of a condition, as the breach of the term would go to the root of the contract, and was to be strictly complied with on the understanding of both parties.

Well done the owners of the club. This sort of leadership has been missing for so long. Clear statement that is saying to future players that we are not going to get f"cked about with any more. This is giving us our identity back. So many owners talk the talk. These guys are making it happen. However the legal process falls out....they have my backing. The PFA must be sh*tting themselves as this is exposing what is wrong with today's game. Over paid players who think they are above any one else because they get paid too much money. Certainly the PFA won't have public backing on this one if they decide to fight it.

It would be great If Sartori says just fight it whatever the out come we will take it until it busts the players and the PFA if we have to. I can dream.

I'd like to believe we'd have the backing of every club in the country but after Chelsea's case with Mutu I very much doubt it.

I imagine their agents will be the main target of Sunderland because the players will just say "they told me what to do".

As I have said previously regarding the club taking legal action which can prove to be a ridiculously expensive affair, I am more than willing to contribute to a ‘war chest’. Although this can only be a modest gesture - 30 odd thousand modest amounts (more if it took off nationwide) would pay afew lawyers for a few Weeks. GO FOR IT please SAFC.

My first reaction to the Club suing was that, even if we won, the players would just **** off out of the country and there'd be no way to enforce judgement.

However, I've just read up on the Mutu saga, and Chelsea took their action through FIFA channels and won all the way. Probably that's the way to go. Put the ****ers in a position where they would either have to pay the Club compensation or else be banned by FIFA from playing.

I am sure most of us could easily cough up between £5 and £20 quid so that could bring in a minimum of £300 to £400 grand

And if we win a substantial sum in compensation I would, naturally, expect a return on my ‘investment’.

I think they can be prevented from signing on with another club until they've settled with the club?

The trouble with that is no other club in their right senses would touch these two with an extremely long barge pole.Winning regardless of getting anything back from them would still make it all worth while and send out a real message to the rest of these greedy mercenary bastards which unfortunately football is now wick with.

They don't know they're not going to get a new contract.

If we can hold their papers, or the F.A. hold them and they can't even begin to look for another contract, I think that would focus their attention on coming to a deal and paying damages. We might not get the same as any potential transfer fee, but they can't earn a penny either!

Not sure if that's even possible though. Mutu left the country and Chelsea never saw a penny.

I think it's notice we intend to sack him and we'll be following procedure by putting an app into fifa to dissolve his contract. No pfa backing, undeniable proof of breach. It should go without a hitch. Suing them on the other hand I don't know, but it could take a years to end that avenue.

I've heard this also, although not from a reliable source admittedly. Where did you hear it from?

If it is true then it's probably not worth even bothering trying to sue them. I thin if we can just end the little leeches contracts without having to pay another penny, we'll have done well. Realistically, what transfer value could we even expect for them now, anyway?
