Good Morning Everyone Mateusz Klich came off the bench last night to score an 87th Minute equaliser as Poland snatched a draw against the Republic of Ireland. The betting odds are in for Saturdays clash at the New Den. Leeds are 23/20 favourites, whilst Millall are 23/10 (slightly better than 2 to 1. The draw is 12/5. A nil - nil draw seems good value at 10/1. Our worst fears were realised yesterday when it was announced that Patrick Bamford would be out of action for the remainder of the year due to his ACL injury. Anterior cruciate ligament injury is when the anterior cruciate ligament is either stretched, partially torn, or completely torn. The most common injury is a complete tear. Fortunately Izzy Brown can play as a forward; we just need to get him fit.
Morning all I think Bamfords injury is a posterior cruciate ligament injury. PAL. ACL usually involves surgery but PCL usually heals itself as long as knee is immobilized. The ligaments on posterior cruciate injuries are much thicker as they dont need to do as much as anterior ligaments that requires full forward movement. Posterior ligament is for going backwards and is located behind the knee. Leeds players all did well on International duty. BPF got his first full cap and many think he did well unless you are ex Arsenal player. Pontus captained his country, Dallas scored a belter, Klich scored a belter, Alioski scored in both games and Tyler Roberts got his debut for Wales
Good Morning to the Sheriff and his posse from a dull chilly Bardsey Why is it when we get new players in they are either injured or get injured are we cursed at least we have Dallas back and playing wellbut we need some resilience against that lot they will be up for it from the start its their cup final so all the players need a lot of bottle do we have that sort of players I wonder Alioski and Hermandez maybe left out of this war
Good Matt & everyone It will be interesting to see if Brown is as effective for us as he was for Huddersfield
Morning all. Weekend approaching fast thankfully. New iPhones today for the wealthier ones among you with shares in Apple. Youll be worth a few quid more this evening likely
Just seen the Klich goal... great first touch and quick feet... cracking finish. Would love to see it repeated on Saturday
Great piece in the YEP from Ayling letting us know he was told to lose half a stone and he's loving being fitter and stronger as it was fat he was told to lose not muscle. Every player had a weight target to hit every day and every player hit it and every player feels much fitter and faster and loving it. Ayling also went on to say he is aware of the reputation of Bielsa and says he is proud to be one of his players, and says he knows he will never get to play under a coach as highly thought of as Bielsa again.
Isnt it extraordinary though doc that hes played under several coaches and fitness regimes before and they never spotted it or maybe failed to motivate him into action. Says a lot about the ability of those previous coaches I think. Pontus also given up the beer which I would have been common sense to any athlete in any sport
Morning all.....not good news about Bamford, hopefully, izzy will be available soon & can be a good backup for Roofe. Alternatively,Bielsa might bring one of the youngsters in...
Correct mate and both Ayling, Phillips and Forshaw have said similar things in recent days about previous coaches trying to do it but the players not sticking to it. Shows a lack of respect for the previous managers and a problem in football where players have big opinions of themselves and think they can do whatever they want. Bielsa has made it clear who’s in charge so if you want to play do what I say. It also shows that the players retained are waiting for the next thing to come out of Bielsas mouth that they can take in and do. They think hes great, they think hes like god and hang on every word. No bad thing having the troops willing to die for their general
Might also explain some of the reasons for the ones that were not given squad numbers and shipped out. As much to do with off field stuff rather than ability. Reminds me again of the video on twitter of Bamba when he was injured with us, pissed up at a house party. Hardly correct for a professional trying to recover from an injury
Hopefully have someone back for December. Would be unreasonable to expect Roofe to carry the show over the busy xmas period on his own
Yeh, you’d kind of think religious fitness regimes would be the norm for professional footballers but it seems that bielsa’s strict fat % targets, daily weigh ins, diet restrictions, extra training schedules and siestas were something of a wake up call for the squad. ...If a siesta can be a wake up call
Pontus mentioned the weight issue a couple of weeks ago Is it any wonder we ended halfway down the league with a bunch of fat b*stards in our team
When you look at our results over the last couple of seasons you see we struggle to score in the first 20 minutes especially under Redders and then Monk, and we concede late in most of our games so lose points or get beat because we were not fit enough to do a full 90 and panic sets in. Bielsa’s style of play means we now score at any time and can go longer than 90 mins so are keeping clean sheets. Think what would have happened last season in our penalty area
Morning Matt and all. Nice to see all our internationals doing well over the last week, double edged sword, great they're doing well but holding breath they don't get injured. No surprise we're favourite's, early goal for us and it could be a whitewash, expect a few of ours to be kicked, only way they'll cope. Bamford news is a blow, as well as the youngsters have been doing we're not sure if the lads are ready for the step up yet, Brown will be an asset but looks like he's 6-8 weeks away from being ready, hopefully roofe's form continues and he stays injury free, a real chance for him now to show what he's made of. Luckily we are scoring from all over the pitch this season, so not reliant just on Roofe, as we did with Wood under Monk.
