Dont think he's against having a biscuit or a piece of cake though Matth. Its all about moderation. He's got 4 or 5 kids so I bet he's got loads of biscuits in his kitchen.
He'll make proper versions made from British potatoes and fried in lard - and that is just the cakes. Wonder if he will get caught up in more "cultural appropriation" - probably will make his version of Cornish pasties using pork or something like that. TBH that doesn't sound half bad - don't think anyone makes a pork pasty...
I dont know what kind of deal Tesco have with Jamie Oliver, but I dont think they are going to stop selling snacks (which presumably contributes to billions of pounds worth of turnover per year), because some celebrity chef told them to. Tesco, like most companies, will act in the best interests of their bottom line.
Why? I don't get the hate, maybe a bit annoying to some but he's ok, done a lot of good. Took on some violent burglar recently as well.

Its probably his stance on trying to lecture us on what not to eat, when a few years ago he was a scruffy student type cooking class grub. Its like the government recommending diesel, then calling everyone a mug.
He's a two faced arsehole...he's got a massive range of olive oils, pasta and sauces and **** knows what else in other stores...I don't buy anything that that ****er has his name or fat tongued fat face on.
