What other inane "tributes" will we get I wonder as Sky desperately try to prove that they are actually the good guys before they get taken over by the Aussie scrote.

I say instead of commentary play this on repeat as it would make more sense then the cack that they will be producing - why the **** are England friendlies on Sky in the first place?

Just a shame Michael Jackson had a problem dealing with his own skin disorder that was turning him white (allegedly) - maybe if he had accepted it he would have still been alive today...

His dad was an absolute bastard which apparently was a driving forces of the bleaching and surgeries - so Micheal wouldn't see him in his own reflection.

More I read about him, the more pity I feel for the guy.

I think you will find it was driven by his skin condition, the only part of that he might be able to blame on his father is any genetic disorder. Not defending his father don't get me wrong, but it is quite often not discussed the skin condition he had, and it may have had a detrimental affect on his mental health as in black people they become more cosmetically conscious of the condition. Did you read the link and the story about the glove?....not sure if that is true but if it was then it would all start making some sense that he was attempting to hide the condition, hence did he make changes to his complexion to lesson the cosmetic impact, which would then may have well been detrimental again to his well being through any drugs taken.

Am not saying that it was the only factor but was a driving force - normal treatment of vitilgo would mean you regain your natural skin colour but he got rid of his natural skin colour instead which buggered him up in the long term with his sunlight sensitivity and the like which caused him to abuse painkillers.

Also he only needed cosmetic surgery on his scalp following a accident but took it a lot further and changed his face completely.

Poor bastard was buggered up a lot in the head and from what I have read, the main cause was his dad.

Fair points and agree - although you don't regain your natural skin colour with the condition. Most cases are progressive and despite many claims there is no known cure, basically you have lost the pigmentation in your skin. So being blunt about it a black man turns white, much like an albinism but not sure if they are two completely different conditions or related in some way. I would imagine it is worse for the female sex because of appearance, males not so much but MJ was a mega star. It's a shame really he never accepted his condition, it would have helped far more people throughout the world live with it, than the OP's 25 second broadcast ever will.

I know an Indian girl with vitilgo but she has had treatment about 5 years ago and regained her natural skin colour - she no longer has white patches on her face and hands and said that it wasn't through makeup - advances in modern treatment maybe?

Either way she was really bullied when we went school together and even her brother who doesn't have the condition was ostracised because of it. Can see how it can really affect you mentally.

Interesting. Yes, I have heard of bullying in Asian kids at school regarding the condition. I've never heard of there being a perm treatment, because the condition tends to be progressive so not sure if the Indian girl you mentioned is aware of that, basically it will be somewhere in her immune system / genes. Generally it is through cosmetic make up https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vitiligo/treatment/ , but hey she is happy - and if they have found a cure then I'm pleased for her <ok>
