I read 'Food of the Gods' when I was back in Uni and taking lots of LSD and mushrooms. For me, psychedelics have been a very positive influence in my life. I know they are not for everybody, as they can push some people over the edge. But the whole concept of deconstructing 'reality' and immersing yourself in the bizarre and astonishing world of psychedelics is something that has always been attractive to me.
First time I tried lsd was at a rave in a place called coast 2 coast. Was at the bottom of broad street in brum under the itv studios. Was 1992 I was 14. My cousin gave me a double dipped penguin. I ended up at some point during the night sat in a toilet cubicle. The cubicle then started filling with water. I went in to a panic and was lifted out of said cubicle by a doorman as I thought I was drowning.
Those double dipped tabs were a strong hit of acid. Most tabs were made from sheets of blotting paper sprayed one side with LSD. But the double dippers were sheets immersed in liquid LSD. They were probably 4x-5x as strong as the usual tabs.

I always drank a fair bit at them, regardless of what I was on. Would find it weird going to something like that and not drinking at all tbh. By about 3am you are just chugging water, but prior to that I would always have something alcoholic
