If that's true, Libertyswan, then screw him! We know what we want, and how far we can go to get it, and long may it continue like that.

I think Bessone is a really weak signing unfortunately. I wouldn't have considered him first team when he was here (Marcos Painter was a better left back when fit), and I am not sure I would pick him over Tate when fit either. I guess that the Tate injury forced us into signing a left back, when perhaps we hadn't been looking at available left backs. We only had a few days to try and sign someone, with limited funds, so better the devil you know I guess. If Taylor stays fit and keeps improving, we won't have a problem, but I think Fede will be well out of his depth at this level. I hope he proves me wrong.

Leon, i am with you. i cant tell you how disappointed i am with this. This is a man who couldnt make the bench at an average Championship side yet alone the Premier league. Can people not remember how poor Routledge made him look.
I am sorry for saying this but he would actually weaken the side. i am sure we could have done a lot better than this.

We needed cover but it's fingers crossed Taylor stays injury free for me, or the Bessone signing could really hurt us.
I really hope I'm wrong though.

Worst person I've ever seen to play professional football. No redeeming features whatsoever in his time with Leeds. Hope he does better with you lot, because on the face of it, this is a completely nonsensical signing.

Apparently we lost out on Romaric from Sparta Rotterdam because of the player’s wages, which are thought to be in the region of £40,000 a week.

Good he is out of our wage structure , if we bring a player on those kind of wages others will want more, and we turned down senna for similar kinds of wage demands, Brendan went on record to say that it could cause disruption at our club.

Bessone seemed to be better at going forward than defending. He crosses well and has a powerful shot but only someone you'd play if disaster strikes.

If Beattie could have a second season where everything he hit went in i dont think we would hear anyone complaining?

Just checked stats 90 premier league goals in 320 appearances. Not great but not to shabby. He is older now but seeing as a lot of sectors are saying we are missing experience then he has a bag full of that!

Problem with that is we will never find out as he won't get game time.

    Granted Dan!

My post was based on seeing him over the years though (although only on tv!). He had that one unbelievable season... but since then he's been average at best in my opinion. Like a white Emile Heskey?

great to get bess back he is a good player, as for Beattie he is scoring for fun at the moment and would do well up front for us, at least he knows where the net is...<ok>

Beattie has a track record of playing for teams who play route one football, as far as I'm aware? Maybe he could do a job for us, but I'd be very surprised. The ball would probably just bounce off him a lot! (We are all talking about James Beattie, right?)

Yeah James Beattie....I think, got confused for a minute there. We tried a bit of the ol' route one against Sunderland towards the end and it was not sticking to Lita at all, perhaps a bit of experience in that style if we are going to revert to it every now and again may not be a bad thing. Could be our very own Kevin Phillips...can only score in the last 5 mins of games lol. As for the Heskey comment be careful as he has scored more than Torres this season :)

Heaven forbid if we are talking of our Beattie, though it looks as though Dai is!......................
