Oliver’s still a great chef. Have a few of his books and he has some amazing recipes. I don’t get the anti-Oliver brigade.
Strangely, I can imagine that is nice. Don't like Marmite as it is salty, but boiled eggs need salt....so probably tasty.
Only drink Twinings. Just found a cheapo shop on the Island that sells Twinings at a nice reduced price....and also sells my favourite Wykes cheese (which the major supermarkets have dropped).
Are you an Earl Grey drinker Fran? If I drink tea I can only drink Earl Grey now with the smallest splash of milk. The reason I ask is that I only used to do Twinings too, but then I discovered Newby teas. The nicest Earl Grey you will ever have I though have been Americanised and drink a lot more coffee nowadays.
They used to think the world was flat Fran. You'll come round! Although I agree about Nutella. The only time chocolate should appear for breakfast is a pana chocolate. Occasionally.
No, not Earl Grey. Like a strong tea. I only drink coffee on holiday...as tea is usually poor abroad. My problem with coffee is that to me it is a food not a drink. It isn't refreshing and takes away my appetite. A cup of coffee would be virtually lunch to me. For info, you can get real tea in Malta. They know how to make a cuppa.
For all coffee lovers., check out Horsham coffee roasters. https://www.horshamcoffeeroaster.co.uk/ Beans only. Prompt delivery, but excellent premium coffee. Not cheap. Try the selection pack, you can really taste the difference between the regions and find ones you like. The workhorse blend is a great staple for any type of coffee maker. Yes, I'm a coffee snob. Some things worth paying for!
JO 15 Minute Meals is the most used book in our kitchen. Full of great, simple ideas He is a bit of a Marmite TV personality On the other hand I'm surprised that everyone doesn't find Ramsey to be an arrogant, foul mouthed twat of a TV personality ... he may be nicer in reality of course
They all have contrived TV personalities. That's the nature of the game and a bit tedious. I like some of what Oliver's tried to do re food education.
As a crossover with the Peanut Butter sub-thread, Meridian also make the best crunchy peanut butter and the only one I can get with just peanuts in and no palm oil Peanut Butter and Jam is good, picked that up from the US of course Oh and peanut butter and banana sarnies Oh and Marmite and Tahini, picked that up from a hippy
My Mum used to make peanut butter biscuits....absolutely delicious, especially hot straight from the oven. Haven't got the recipe sadly.
