He has mate, hes been a big plus but we have a strong squad, so we need to use it to avoid being predictable. A week without starting will hopefully pish and fire Mcguire up at the same time. He could come on second half anyway because Sinclair will probs not be ready for a full 90 mins.
I'd keep the side the same apart from bringing in Flanagan to play alongside Baldwin as I think in theory that's our best pairing so may as well get them going, Sinclair can be an impact sub for me while Maja is still scoring and playing well.
I've just read that EFL clubs are allowed stream the 3pm games to UK residents this weekend. "EFL clubs will be able to stream games on 8 September, 13 October, 17 November 2018 and 23 March 2019 when Uefa fixtures are being staged during international breaks." https://www.safc.com/news/team-news/live-video
This for me. Maja is our player and unless he drops if he should remain. Every game under a young lads belt is growth. Loved the look of Sinclair though he was putting himself about and I love to see that hunger.
Barton and every other manager we face will base their team talk on Gooch, Maja and Mcguire. We need to mix it up this season and weve got the players to do it like any successful team in Europe but only on a smaller scale
Am i the only one who likes us playing with oviado and gooch as wingbacks? i know 3 at the back has been our fallback system but we look good playing it and it's got us out of the clarts so many times already this season
Maja's come on so far this season in terms of confidence and performances it'd be a crying shame to put a stop to it without a damn good reason, he looks twice the player he did last year. Last game I saw he was doing Mbappe style flicks throughout the second half, the lad has skill.
Sorry for being negative lads but I can see us actually going into the lead today (something we have craved for) and then losing 2-1. With the squad we have we should win. We have some good players and a good bench. Just hoping I'm completely wrong. I normally have a bet in the ground I just cannot go and put a coupon on for us to lose.
I would rather we set up like that. They’re our best source of goals and it helps our weaknesses at the back - and a central combo of Loovens, Baldwin & Flanagan should be better than just two of em in a flatter back 4. Hume & Matthews can also play those wing-back roles. There’s then a choice of McGeogh, Catts, Power, Maguire, Mumba, O’Nien, Honeyman, Watmore, McGeady, Wyke, Maja & Sinclair for the 5 positions in the middle/ up top.
Hume in for Oviedo, McGeouch in for Power, Matthews and Loovens back for Love and Ozturk. please log in to view this image
Happy with that line up - have to start positively today from the first whistle, get the crowd rocking and get them under pressure. Been raining for a while now so surface should be slick for a good passing game. Just about to pull on the shirt on and head across - haway the lads!!!
Teeside that is actually something different and funny !. Lets all stick together and support the lads, I dare not predict a score mind but hope we win.
