Club managers have no say over who gets called up?

injuries wasn’t part of the discussion? You said it was unfair that ROI may face a full strength Denmark while Wales don’t? That makes n diff to injuries they can get injured in any game.

Are they though? Why? They serve no more of or less purpose than friendlies other than being able to say ‘we won the nations lesgue group’ which in 10 years no one will care about.

Because that’s the way it is. And that’s how many of fans have viewed it.
Look at it another way. We used to say we couldn’t compete with the likes of Chelsea and City because they were buying at the very top. So now that the boot is on the other foot, why can’t we say we should now be in a positive to compete. Based on the purchases , we should be rightly be considered among the top favourites. It is like when Pogba was bought by the mancs as the most expensive player in the world everyone said that they had to win the title to justify it.

I still think irrespective of the cost and purchasing elements we now have to win the title. Klopp himself recognises that. We will never have a better opportunity as the mancs and Spurs are out of the race.

Okay, I stand by what I said, so the question to you is, in an international tournament(which it is whether you rate it or not)would it be fair and within the spirit of the game for Wales to face a team of Futsal players representing Denmark and Ireland to face their full strength team?

It's obvious that Wales will walk away with the points(as would Ireland)but not so obvious that Ireland will walk away with the points(as it would be for Wales)facing a full strength Denmark team.

Looks like we ain't gonna agree Bisc.<laugh>

Boris Johnson should be sued for gross negligence for the national stadium disgrace he and his team at the London Mayor's office caused and the financial impact on tax payers.

West Ham: London Stadium rent 'does not even cover cost of matches', owners say

    You're missing my point completely.
If it were true that we've always been spending high and not winning the PL, what has changed that we feel we must win it now?
Some fans may think that way, but they're being illogical.

The reality is that that it's who you have that matters, not how much they cost.
That table is way too limited to give any valuable information, and conclusions drawn from it are too simplistic. There are many other factors to be taken into consideration.

Anyone who thought that buying Pogba meant Utd must win the league to justify it is being hopelessly naive or just on the wum.
Does the money we've spent mean we must have a better squad than City's? There's no logic in that line of reasoning.

You are right. The reasoning of our fans is very often too simplistic. Of course it is the players you have that matters. But as we now have some of the very best players in the world, why can’t we expect to win the title? Nowadays we are spending big on top players and our squad should match the very top.

Why the low expectations? We have a much better defence and GK, our attack scores at will. My feeling will be of disappointment if we don’t win it this season. And I am not alone in this.
