I gave a like purely because you put so much effort in. But I still believe that Rafa got this one wrong. He’s a lose cannon but well managed Hes a ****ing top quality goal scorer. I think we will live to regret selling him rather than the others.
Rather than one of the others? Who do you propose we should have sold? Perez - our only good striker Gayle - no Prem team wanted him and we couldn't sell him to a Champ team cos the greedy ****er wouldn't drop his wages Joselu - as much as the whole of the Prem was fighting over signing him in summer, unfortunately no offers were forthcoming. FWIW I agree we should have kept Mitro, but Rafa obviously didn't like him, and if it's a choice between Mitro and Rafa, then we have to go with Rafa.
We should have sold Gayle for £15m when Fulham were sniffing around him a couple of years back. Had that happened we most likely would not have bought Joselu and a Perez/Mitrovic partnership would have flourished and we wouldn't even be having this ****ing convo. Rafa has dropped a bollock on this one. He'll either come back to haunt us and score against us when we meet, or he may well be so ****ing hyped up that he lunges in on Ciaran Clark and snaps his ****ing legs and gets sent off......but that's why we love him, you never know what ya gonna get
Bloody hell anybody would think sales of players was a complete anomaly and that clubs selling average players who go on to be better is as rare as unicorn poo. It happens everywhere, all the time. It’s a non event. He’s not a toon player. He needs no more lamenting than Carroll. The point of this thread was to just move the **** on so can we please do so!
Aleksandar Mitrovic talking to The Mail: “Newcastle is a big club but they have problems with the owner (Mike Ashley). “Everyone knows Mike Ashley… “They have taken large steps forward but also to go back. “I do wish them success. “It’s different (in London) to Newcastle, as when I go out I don’t need a hat for disguise. “Here I have my own peace and I can go out with my kids on the street. “Nobody cares about me or stops me. It’s nice. “Shearer is still my hero and it’s his job to do analysis. “He was right most of the time (talking about my time at Newcastle) of course. “My father says the same. “I know myself when I play bad anyway. “Alan Shearer is still a legend and I don’t think England will ever have a striker like him again.” You've just got to love him though...
This all day long! And he'd be doing us a favour snapping Clark, hopefully break Atsu as well on the way off. People saying move on, he's been gone 5 and a half weeks? I seem to remember Cabaye, Carroll and a certain HBA among others being spoken about for months and years after they moved on. Its a football forum to discuss opinions. Some people still hold the opinion the Demi-God Rafa has made a boo-boo with this one so why shouldn't it be discussed? Especially when he's joint top scorer in the league with a better Shots on Target % than Sergio Aguero (and more goals) thus far. Just because you **** yourself dry over every little thing Rafa does doesn't mean he's always in the right.
At the end of day if a manager doesn't like a player and/or doesn't get on with them, then the player gets moved on, simple as that, no matter how good the player is - look at Staam and Beckham getting the boot at Man U cos Ferguson didn't want them there. We've had plenty of examples of this ourselves: - Keegan didn't get on with Hippofatamus, Hippofatamus scored goals like there was no tomorrow whenever he player and moved up a league when we sold him, but Keegan wasn't having him - Dalgleish didn't like Ginola and got rid of him, didn't fit into Dalgleish's style of no entertainment and OAPs - Guillet didn't like Shearer, Shearer admitted that if Guillet hadn't left then he would have left - Souness didn't like Bellamy and got rid of him, Bellamy was awesome for us, but Souness clearly could tolerate a gob like him in the dressing room. He also got rid of Robert cos he dared to speak out against him. At the end of the day, if Guillet had stayed and Shearer had left, it would have gone down in the history of the club as one of the biggest mistakes ever, Rafa ditching Mitro is hardly in the same league.
What are my tarot cards reading today as you can predict the future? All good pointing out previous problems and fully agree with the Guillet/Shearer scenario but we have no end result to the current situation where as this is all 10 years plus in the past. The Stam/Beckham one I don't as they had a world class team with MONEY to go and BUY players to replace them sufficiently. If Mitro bags 15-20 goals this season and keeps Fulham up (only needs another 11-16 in 34 games), we go down to through not scoring enough goals, Rafa then walks, Ashley refuses to bank roll another season in the Championship with some muppet like McClaren in charge and we end up Div 1 like Sunderland is that then a big mistake? We've gone and got Joselu and Rondon - two target men who don't score enough goals in the league, never have. We got rid of a striker who in his one season in the league has out done the pair of them across 5/6 seasons combined because "Rafa didn't fancy him". All hypothetical I appreciate because we don't know how the season will unfold and how many goals the pair of strikers we have will get, who knows maybe The Jos keeps up with Salah in terms of goals this season and fires us to an FA Cup final but for me until either of them hits the 10-12 goal mark I'm going to call this transfer out as BS...
As someone succinctly put on twitter, the real problem isn’t selling Mitrovic, it’s doing **** all with the £25m we got.
Ashley has carefully structured the payments so that we receive £95 a week .................................. and Charnley has added that to his Greggs kitty ...................... the money is being spent, don't worry about that.
Found his level again, scored against a lowry ranked Romanian side. BTW since January has he scored more goals than the entire Newcastle team, asking for a friend.
see he can score outside th 6 yard box. http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/11494856/mitrovic-scores-a-screamer
I just think Rafa has dropped a proper clanger on this one. Control mitro and play to his strengths and you have a 15-20 goal a season striker. Just my opinion like but he scores goals.
Mitro's goals will keep Fulham up. For the price that they paid they have a bargain. I remember the 'found his level' comments when people labelled him a Championship quality striker. They are looking very silly now.
Since joining Fulham on loan last season his record is: Fulham (championship) - P 20 G 12 Fulham (premiership) - P 4 G 4 Serbia - P 9 S 8 He is also now Serbias top ever goalscorer oh.... and he is only 23. Not bad eh! I don't even want to compare these stats to Joselu or Rondon. If he keeps scoring goals then we will be seriously gutted!
Got a feeling this isn't going away. Confidence is up and the lad can't stop scoring. I think even the most ardent doubters will soon have to munch some humble pie. We stayed up without him last season though, so hopefully we can do the same. I still think Rafa was right to sell him if he doesn't rate him.
