Here's the thing: of the many buzz phrases his supporters trot out is how the left are suffering from "Trump derangement syndrome" - as opposed to his supporters, who definitely don't come across as deranged, especially the ones currently spending $100 on a pair of Nike trainers so they can burn them to say they will not support Nike due to their using Colin Kaepernick in an ad campaign

  2. Have to say I nearly pissed myself laughing at that yesterday. Nike pulled off a brilliant marketing and sales coup...... supporting someone who has significant national and international support - and getting the Trump morons to buy their products!! Its a work of pure genius! <laugh>

Bit like Saint and Greavsie you mean? You could kind of like Ian St John when he wasn't wearing a red jersey.

Stormy Daniels v Donald Trump: September 24th. Why does that date sound familiar? Paul Manafort's 2nd trial starts on the same day! <laugh>

  6. Fair play to Eric for putting his head above the parapet. Proving once again he's a footballer with a brain beyond the game.

Interesting that the general ratio of the comments for/against reflect what we were saying earlier about Nike correctly guessing the public response.

He'll get stick off a few nutbags on social media, but it's a fairly non-controversial stance over here, isn't it?
Man kneels in protest. Even if you don't agree with him, it's hardly a big deal, is it? I really don't get the fuss.
I know the player himself has suffered for it and it's kicked off in America, but I still don't see why.

  8. Trump made an issue of it - deliberately. Probably just to test the waters to see how far he could push the race card.
Think he knows the answer to that one now! <laugh>

Maybe not controversial over here, but it's still good to see Eric supporting it.

  9. The worrying thing is that I actually think Trump believes this **** he spouts!! <doh>

Today we hear about Offgems "price regulation" in the energy industry - not quite the same as what Milliband advocated a few years back when he was widely labelled a communist for doing so. My main point however is to mention what a mess this all this privatisation / "competition" is. It's mostly sham competition though isn't it? It's not like you sign up to a new electricity company and some engineers come round and wire you into a new network. There is so much to say on tariffs but I'm not going to as I don't really understand them! It seems you have to spend time continually changing your supplier in order not to lose out and that just doesn't feel right, particularly for the non-internet savvy, who more often than not are the most vulnerable. I actually worked for the CEGB (the pre-privitisation state energy company) and it was so different then. We owned our own energy, designed and built our own power stations, and even exported power to France. Now France owns much of our energy industry! But like railways and other industries, it's apparently ok for states to own our industries providing our state doesn't.

Marco Rubio has been busy devoting his time and energy into the hugely important task of...complaining that Neil Armstrong biopic First Man doesn't put an absurd amount of the film's focus into a reverential shot of Armstrong placing the American flag onto the moon's surface, which should no doubt be accompanied by patriotic music and possibly fireworks popping off in the background as the film explicitly states what Armstrong did is nowhere near as important as a ****ing flag being stuck into the ground

Here's a thought: if it's so bloody important, why not write a treatment for a film about one flag's historic journey where it sought to meets its destiny on the lunar surface and send it to Michael Bay?

Telecoms is the only utility industry where the construction
of new physical networks is possible on a mass scale.

The electricity/gas/water providers can only reduce consumer
prices by reducing their OPEX costs (the cost of the "raw material" ,
resource wastage due to "leakage" , the efficiency of the
"generator" processes etc) . Some of course being immensely
expense from day 1 to do (so a huge upfront CAPEX cost) .

Until the govt punitive fines start to go into the billions, there is
no incentive for companies that have the nation as captive
customers to do anything at all.

The crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill or overthrow the sovereign or government. Glad we've cleared that up.

Even the trolliest of MailOnline bots are more eloquent than that - although irony is completely lost on them, for example...

I think you'll find that it's actually Copenhargen in the United Kingdom. Wherever that is.

Thinking back on the Orange Overlord turning the Oval Office into The Amityville Horror just gave me a terrifying through

POTUS arrives at the Oval Office at 4am
White House staffers arrive in the West Wing at 6am
That means the POTUS has two hours alone with The Button

    Sleep tight...
