i have found the following; 1. not606 has been underpressure for a bit of time. when i first joined it was fine but stability is an issue so one would hope he's fixing it. 2. there are far far more people on this forum than on the others. ja606 has very few actual users. the issues are a measure of success really. 3. sky and bbc have really elt the average IC fan down. it seems the media wants to go twitter, they want short soundbites not in depth stuff. 4. i checked out a lot of sites before settling on this one and every one has the same issues, at least this one has self modification and it works, impartial decision making too.... the bbc could not do that! go elsewhere and go accept wummery or worse mods/owners not of your club who can turn on you.
Cheers Maltese Mick whoever you are,you have done a good job Was frustratin yesterday though It has to be said theres certainly a distinct lack of wums on this site, and the numbers on the lfc board at least, seem to be growin
BBC was slow yesterday as well, soccernet were breaking stories that Sky and BBC were behind on. Not sure if it was ESPN man power to get all the stoires but they were on top of it. Luckily I was out coaching so missed a lot of the final hours and thus the site going bonkers. Still peeved about Raul but it is what it is, just opens the door for Coady, Suso, Shelvey to step in....
You've changed your tune since your sportwitness days . I remember posting an article there a while back on the reds board telling them to come to not606 purely because we had the numbers here, but the mods deleted it in seconds! Can't say I blame them cus here we would if it were a ja606 article - but for the small forum that it is/was what rapid response from the mods! As for here, Mick (creator and admin) makes no profit at all, even his iPhone and android apps are free, I would have easily paid him the 69p though. The ads help a bit but only effect guests and don't cover the costs, so whilst it's annoying when not606 is down, we have to remember that upgrades to the server (like last night) cost Mick a fortune and at no real gain to him.
I don't see any ads! Do I? As for quality of moderating- I just went to Ja606 "just to see" - it was horrendous- they really are "just another 606" - the bickering was crazy... Two thumbs up for Mick- I'd give more thumbs up if I had more.
see a few ads on the android app, but nothing crazy. If Mick allows the ones that have the volume up I will start to lose it though!
Any truth in the rumour that hargreaves move to city has been called off after he fell out of the transfer window
I would be perfectly fine with small ads to the side and bottom- or even those keyword ones that turn words into links to various products- as long as there is nothing that pops up or makes noise. I think it would be perfectly fine and expected for him to try and recoup costs- especially if it means hardware upgrades to support the forum.
The ads come up before you sign in. Once you sign in the ads are gone So basically the ads are for guests.
