I have my suspicions. Bambi has been knocking on the closet door for some while, as has amply been evidenced by his detailed and vivid homo erotic verbalisations. His constant retelling of the overt sexual encounters between “Quentin and Rupert” is a key feature of his posting history. Others hide their leanings a lot better. I’ve noticed a tension, for example, between Commie and Matth. I’ll stop short of making any assertions, though, as it might just be the case that the tension is club related and can be resolved by a good hard mass debate between them, yeah?
After the peggings you’ve had Baldy you’re hardly in a position to talk about other peoples sexual habits.
65,000 men were convicted under those laws but there were hundreds of thousands of people who suffered and were oppressed and suffered far more than Turing. No one hardly ever mentions them if at all. 15000 were alive after 2000. No one even knows one of their names even worse, they were still convicted of it as if 2016 when it was decided to "pardon them" ?!?!?!?! Pardon?! exonerated should be the word here It was horrific, and evil what was done to them, but every time I hear someone mention Turing, they can't mention his brilliant without mentioning his sexuality. That is where my frustration comes from, though fair point, in this case, you were not doing that mater
I agree Although having seen the film and read up on the guy I do think his brilliance is now being overplayed. The film particularly is a little "braveheart" as in the historical accuracy is non existent in many cases. He was one of a few men who worked in that field, and built on the world done by a polish bloke. He also wasn't as quiet about his sexuality as suggested. From what I have read he was quite open about it and even some of his miltary collegues were well aware
That's a criticism of the film. Yet you use it to demean the man. And so what if he wasn't as quiet as the film suggested. Are you therefore suggesting that he brought his problems on himself? Otherwise I don't see the relevance of bringing it up - unless you are turning into Not606's Barry Norman.
The film is, in a"braveheart" way as I clearly wrote Or do you think William Wallace actually ****ed and impregnated the princess of Wales? A quick read on the fellow and history will show you what he did and did not do.
I'm aware that Edward II's wife was about 2 when Wallace died, and that this was one of many problems with the film. I'm not sure Turing's treatment was quite so lavish.
Virtually all of the films about World War II are a bit Braveheart, for some reason. It mainly seems to be Americans randomly inserting themselves into bits that they had nothing to do with and erasing others, though.
Think you're trying to find an argument where there isn't one Unfortunately these days some people see films and accept all of it as truth. Forgetting that ALL films will ultimatley sacrifice truth and facts for cinematic effect
Probably because it's what people know him for. Brilliant mathematician, helped in the war, castrated for being gay. It'd be a bit like mentioning Hitler but trying to to make reference to his evil master plans.
That vegetarian bloke with the car company and the snazzy moustache? (Please note that other murderous dictators are available.)
