The 25 man squad has been named. Danny Simpson is included. Andy King isnt

Cant work out for the life of me why James is included and King isnt

Simaliar ability except King has goals in him. James is never fit and when he is fit isnt for long and question marks if his body is upto this level

With Kingy we know what we are going to get. He will do a job for the team, get us a goal and will always be fit

Obviously with the window closed King will only be able to play for the under 23’s and in the Carabao cup

That is really depressing about King - should have let him leave if we weren't going to play him.

Longest serving player at the club and only one to have won league 1, Championship and Premier League with one club.

I used to but based on last season, he is 6th choice behind Ndidi, Mendy, Silva, Iborra and Choudhury.

I think he could flourish this season. He does have limitations skill-wise, but I do think that he is positionally one of the best in the league (am I going mad) and next to N’didi could form an absolute rock solid base for Maddison and the rest in front to play off

He definitely isn't good enough to replace Mendy who is more faster, has more stamina and a much better range of passing then James ever had.

People got pissed off at Silva passing sideways so would hate James even more - at his peak all he did was pass the ball short to Cambiasso.

Another Puel master stroke just like his match substitutions!

Even if Puel does not rate Kingy why put James in when injured and leave Kingy out when fit?

Anyone with any common sense (which leaves Puel out) would have put Kingy in until January Transfer window giving James time to get fit again then swapped them over if necessary.

If we have another midfield injury crisis like we did towards the end of last season Puel will have alot of egg on his face with Andy King sitting around not able to play and Matty James still injured

I like Puel’s vision for the future but just feel he makes too many poor decisions in the moment

His team selection and constant changes are extremely questionable at times

His desire to get rid of all the strikers have left us short in that area. We spend £25M on a right back to play him on the wing and put Amartey at right back, registering sick note James over King, persisting with Morgan all the time despite spending £40M on centre halfs

I like his vision of youth and the way he wants us to play but question if he is able to achieve his vision due to his piss poor decisions and judgements at times
