Generally its because they've always known they're gay, but find it extremely difficult to accept that. The pressure of what they think it will do to their family, friends, job etc makes people try to live a lie. Ultimately, that can only go on for so long before they can't hide from who they are anymore.

Yeah lets not make someone's sexuality their defining quality. and no, it didn't pretty much win you WWII lol, lolol, Russia did that, and the US finished it off lol

Turing was brilliant, but also happened to prefer men, his sexuality had **** all to do with anything other than his sexuality and his persecution for it

Mixing his sexuality with his science and fame for his brilliants, is gay identitarian bullshit

If Einstein was a brilliant scientist, then Turing was a brilliant scientist, not a brilliant gay scientist
    ugh UGH! the stupid hurts.

It's a Wolf. If that is meant to be a Fox it is the worst drawing of one I've seen. And my daughter drew one when she was 5.

Being Gay became relevant because he was persecuted for it. I'll bet he would have preferred it was an irrelevance, but not his fault it became a defining feature. Never known anyone say being gay helped him with his work.

What's stupid is the people who though it was ok to chemically castrate a man for his sexuality. I suppose you are right in that he shouldn't be treated differently because of who he is but his efforts in the war were considerable if not the defining moment.

Can't blame your daughter for preferring to support a team that has won the EPL Title, to be fair <cheers>

That would probably have happened around the same time that Spurs last won it ... don't fret ... you didn't miss it ... you just weren't born! <laugh>
