When he was growing up in San Saba his dad said to him, "Claudio! You see the Circus Maximus there? Well when you are older you must promise me that you will go to the Vic, where you will find out what it was like to have been in the crowd in that old stadium." To which Caudio replied, "Dad, why are you talking to me in English?" "Ah son," came the reply. "There is something about your dear Mama that I have never told you. Apart from Roma, she supports a team not far from the Vic whose name will never sully my lips. That is not important. Just promise me, Claudio, that when you can you will go to the Vic and watch the mighty Hornets beat a team that left their white shirts next to their wet, blue shorts and the dye ran." "I will dad, but first I will get a curry and a packet of crisps." " just don't tell your dear mama."
The only disappointment was that because we played on Sunday we couldn't see Gary Bellend choke on his words as he introduced the Watford v Spurs game on Match of the Day Alan Shearer would have loved comparing Deeney with Kane
apparently he spent a lot of time making notes...i do hope he's not being lined up, we are in such a good place right now! Zavi is working mircles, i can't imagine there's anything sinister going on..i hope not!
He is a friend of the family and has been to many games, possibly as many as 10 since he left Leicester.
https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/highlights-watford-2-1-tottenham-hotspur I just LOVE those scenes at the end!!!
I see Man U and Everton Fans are demanding that Spurs are deducted points over the farce of their game against Man City being rearranged Man U I can understand as they want Champions League football, but, Everton, how will that affect them? they are already mid table mediocrity
https://www.planetfootball.com/in-d...-underdog-well-deserving-of-a-day-in-the-sun/ For a Spurs eye view..... and what a refreshing change... someone who "gets" our club!
A really good blog. Sometimes as a Watford fan you don't notice everything going on around you, but surely the author had to be close to the club at some point in his life to understand what GT, Elton and the Vic are actually about.
Re the blog referenced above. A blog that Matt Rowson would be proud of. More than that, someone who feels football and it’s soul . Not often can we say thankyou to a supporter from another club who writes about us-usually it’s unpleasant bile about where we will be come season end blah blah blah. This was different- thoughtful insightful and comprehensive, not meejah sound bites. Well done that man!
