The bit that made me laugh was Bardsley holding his forehead and turning to the ref then going back into it
It’s amazing how people forget that it is not easy to win the title twice in a row. Of course it happened with the likes of us, Ferguson Wenger and Mourinho but more often than not the champions do not repeat their dominance of the previous season. City are already off the pace compared to last season. Of course they’ll still be up there and are still favourites. But those who think they’ll walk over the title will be disappointed. This is a great unbelievable opportunity for us to be champions. I don’t think Arsenal will challenge nor the mancs. Spurs will be worse this season. I only see Chelsea and City as realistic rivals. “The stars are aligned“ and I believe that for once this season will be our season. If we don’t win it this time we could be on for a long wait as the others get their houses in order.
Nope Although, tbf, I've never questioned his record, he's just is a dull **** that only cares about himself. Bookies make him favourite in the sack race for a reason too mate.
I am just looking at the squads of each team. Up untill 3-4 years ago people were stating how difficult it was to win back to back CL’s. I hope you are right, i think it will be much much closer this year, i did think that city were having similar start though to last season cause they dropped points against the toffees early on last season didnt they ?
You need luck to do it, lots of it. Real and that peno in the semi v Juve in injury time 3 0 down, and the 2 Karius flops in the final. Thats a lot of luck in 2 consecutive games for the 3 goals that gave you the CL win.
ZZ might have won 3 champions leagues in a row but I think there is some doubt about him in management. If he rocked up at man u do you think he has the experience to rebuild the team? Most, if not all the signings at Madrid were bought for him, all big name players so could he manage a team that doesn't have superstars all over the pitch and build, what looks to be a disjointed team, into a consistent unit?
So teams have been unlucky not to win 2 CLs in a row? Your incidents, would have meant they were drawing both games with a chance still to win. Anyway, he won 3 in a row and a la liga in 2 and a half seasons (so he really only failed last season in la liga)
What mental gymnastic routine made you paraphrase what I said like that? Pommel Horse? it's almost as if you actually believe you don't need luck to play its part to win 3 CLs in a row. No one is undercutting their achievement
Saying they are lucky to win the CL is undercutting the achievement. How do you feel when Pool 05 is bandied as one of the flukiest wins in the world Anyway it's more about other people (not necessarily here) who denigrates his achievement because they are a club full of "superstars" and says any manager could win the CL with them (which plenty haven't).
What about next season? Liverpool will be contenders for the foreseeable, at least as long as JK is about
As far as I know nobody on here has and nobody's said he's a poor manager, we're all just loving what he's doing atm to utd.
Depends what you mean by fluke. I'd reserve it for a bit of luck that you have done little or nothing to deserve. Might as well say that everything Chelsea have won since Roman took over is a fluke because he was looking for a bargain basement under-achieving club on the cheap with sufficient resources to build up with his vast wealth that had nothing to do with football. And you just happened to be it.
