We were sensational for the last 25 minutes - the game management when we went ahead was superb. I love this team!
I genuinely feel numb. I feel like I do at the end of any great day. Not a good day where if asked you say “Great!”, I mean a truly great day. Like my wedding day, the days the boys were born, promotion to Division One... I’m just reflecting on the day. Numb. Feeling groovy. A glass of vino and... What a great day, my lovely Hornet buddies (and Canary).
If we are honest, none of us thought this season we would win our first 4 games. Feet firmly on the ground but we must enjoy these moments when they come along.
Very true and wise words. But we do seem to have a good squad with depth and a good tactician at the head. And it is now 4 league and one cup win (can you do that with luck? And what I liked today was we often looked second best in control, passing and keeping possession, but we then were forced to start playing to our strengths and Spurs couldn't handle it. And who thought Deulofeu would be seriously worried how he was going to get into a starting eleven when he returns? Does make you wonder how this season will end? Maybe follow Burnley into the Europa? I think that is realistic. I can imagine taking the one hour train up the line to Seville to see the 'orns. What a night that would be. I've been a 'orn for 59 years and have seen many miracles along the way. Maybe this is the start of another one Well feet on the ground or flying high with expectations enjoy one and all
Christ.... where to start? Defended every corner. We had to score for them? We eclipsed their 80+mins with our 15min+!! Still out, still drinking. It is what it is. Train and Alka-Seltzer tomorrow
Reading around some of the Spurs fans are taking the result badly. 2nd rate team are Watford, lump it up field and hope, etc. Arsenal fans are having a field day.
A great day for Sport, we win the test against India and the series, Hamilton wind the FI Grand Prix and tiny Watford beat the arrogant, cheating scum despite the best efforts of the officials, the ref in particular and Tottenham were so poor we had to score their goal for them just so they didn't look too pathetic Harry Kane now scores in August lets hope now he doesn't score for the rest of the season and Tottenham finish where they belong, lower mid table
"And what I liked today was we often looked second best in control, passing and keeping possession, but we then were forced to start playing to our strengths and Spurs couldn't handle it." KC Horn That's just it: we played the reputation for most of it then played our game for what, 10-15 minutes and beat them fair and square. Still out drinking...
We had a slap up meal and wine before the game, just in case finished of tonight with champagne and cheese and biscuit The Spurs fans are saying we deserved to win and they admitted their goal was lucky
First time we've beaten them in 31 years, well worth the celebrations. Watching the highlights again, just to double check that it was how I think it happened. Beautiful.
Arsenal fan love us now as well That could change in four weeks time is it coincidence that all the teams we have beaten seem to have plunged into terminal decline Fingers crossed
One of my best mates is a Spurs fan and I had a beer with him when I got back to sunny NW London. He reckoned Spurs played really well and we're caught out by us running riot for ten minutes. I can't help thinking this is an iconic result. Spurs fans went silent when we scored which is unusual for them, the Vic was properly jumping, the team showed so much intelligence when we went ahead and the unity of purpose amongst the entire eleven is something that's often missing. I am so bloomin happy
Got stuck on the M1 for 1.5 hours due to Hindu festival. Moved 1 mile in that time. Arrived 40 mins late, no time for pre-match chips, different car park etc etc. Everything about the day was different. May try to repeat it all again! Glad I missed most of the first half and not the second! A great, great day. Atmosphere was great and we’ve waited so long to get one over on Spurs.
