huh... Shearer licked our balls. keown asked on gomez... better than van dijk apparently. BBC licking balls... we got off light there tbh you can see inenacho pause and wait for alisson to do it he didn t actually go block the clearance he paused then robbed him
no it wasn't. Why? a) ref didn t blow up. That's the ultimate judge. b) no neutral has called it a foul c) it was a block and the guy came away with ball of someone blew up in midfield and gave a free against us we would be livid. it's be a lot easier for all just to say right...it was a under.. let's see if he learns from it now than go try male excuses for him. BBC were actually soft on him. That's good for us.
I just think the problem up front is that they are thinking too much in the sense that when we were flying last season so much of the interplay was instinctive and therefore one touch which always helps open up defences. Also feels like players aren't making the runs to make themselves a) available b) create space by moving opposition players.
All the clips the BBC showed of good work was 4 man press... it was interesting to see. Much of the time mane and Milner were much much deeper and the press then was gone. There is something in that somewhere. We need to get that press working. The funny thing is I think v spurs they will all up the game 30%
Everyone just seemed to want 7 touches on the ball, Leicester’s press was impressive so maybe it created a nervousness. Saw a couple of times where Mane or Salah picked up the ball with acres of space to burst into, but just stood it up as Leicester got into position - very strange game for us. Credit for holding on, we just wouldn’t have been able to in previous seasons. Well done to Shaqiri too, very sensible at all times
Better a pen and yellow than an open goal. He has that much confidence in himself. He faces away from pens and saves the with his arse too.
The most impressive thing is we're in 2nd gear and winning. Last few seasons we'd be sitting on about 7 points and everyone panicking. Good time for an international break, players to think long and hard then come back firing.
I reckon they will be v spurs. I think they have to know whats coming based on fixtures. I think some guys need to up the urgency but not be frantic that's all.. thry have a game plan and need to apply it but not try silly stuff and lose ball.
Totally agree. Would normally be miffed about an international break when we’re on a run but we’ve won at 60% and are clearly not firing on all cylinders.
Oh dear..... now firmino blames van dijk pass and says alisson tried to fix it. There goes team unity. Man up Brazilians.
