Always interested in the top US grass horses for the BC Turf. You tend to get strange prices, especially for E/W punting, with the UK bookmakers who tend to disregard them. Added to this you can never be sure which English, Irish and French horses will run with the 'Arc' and the Champion Stakes taking place shortly before the Breeders Cup weekend.
The 2yo colts are beginning to show their stuff in France. The unbeaten General Of The Park looked pretty decent beating off Get Happy in the Prix des Bruyères over 2175m. They finished .4 of a second from the race record. Green & black. https://translate.googleusercontent...700214&usg=ALkJrhg8yinvpFSV-W7VhFsGw-NC2mnetw

Just had a wee gander at Yoshida's victory in last night's Woodward Stakes at Saratoga. First run on dirt in a 1m1f Grade 1 event and seemed to win fairly comfortably in a style which suggests the ten furlongs of the Breeders Cup Classic would not be a problem. I am deeply tempted to get involved; current best price is 9/1 with Ladbrokes. Sh*t; wish I wasn't barred from BetVictor as Yoshida seems to be available at 16/1 for BC Classic!
It wasn't a bad effort was it Kenny? The Classic seems wide open at the moments so if you decide to open your shoulders, 9-1 seems like value. For those who have not seen the race, the winner Yoshida comes from the inside and is in white.
After breaking my four year fast (apart from the annual Cheltenham Gold Cup scatterguns) with my bet on La Ti Dar in the 'Arc' I am seriously tempted. I will however wait for more 'offers' to appear on Oddschecker.
Pretty decent performance that; not quoted in either the BC Turf or BC Filly & Mare Turf. Just as an aside 'Glens Falls' was where my Mum and I got off the train from NYC (destination Montreal) for a short stay in Lake George. We had around forty minutes to wait for a taxi so I had a walk and, as luck would have it, a bar bumped into me! To give you a feeling of the looks on the local's faces when I propped myself on a bar stool think the movie .......'Bad Day At Black Rock'.
10/1 now available with Totesport; trigger finger becoming a touch toey however I will wait for Wm. Hill's offer.
Cyc; Hills offer for Yoshida in the BC Classic is 16/1. Reviews on American horse racing sites would suggest the Classic is being seriously considered by the trainer and the owners. I was surprised to discover that the Grade 1 Woodford Stakes was not a 'Win And You're In' qualifier for the Breeders Cup series of races. Comments from contributors to Bloodhorse (www.bloodhorse.com) state this was a very slowly run race and was only slightly quicker (on the clock) than an earlier 'claiming race'. Ho-hum!
Benbatl, 9th best horse in the World. Is he that good? Or is it a weak year? 5th of 8 to Roaring Lion, 10th of 15 to Acidental Agent ????????????? All his form last year was at Meydan
