First of all i have to say i am disappointed with the Transfer Window.

If we'd bought a striker (Roux / Gignac / Ruiz / anyone better than what we have) i'd have been happy but we haven't so we have to get on with it.

It's a real shame because i really felt that we could've pushed for a top ten finish with another addition. As it stands, we'll mumble through until January and then one of two things will happen:

    1. Best is doing 'alright' and we're lower mid-table. We won't bring anyone in because we have Best, Ameobi, Lovenkrands, Ranger to fill in for him.

    2. We'll be in the **** and attempt to splash the cash. Because of where we are we won't be able to attract anyone of quality and we'll end up with nobody or Cartlon Cole.

In the Summer regardless of where we finish, Colo, Jonas, Tiote and possibly Krul will go. The reason Elliot has been brought in is to fill the gap next year when Krul leaves, until Alnwick can step up. Then repeat.

Anyone of quality will move on. But isn't that what happens nowadays? If you're not Manchester City / United these things are going to happen. It's a shame, but the best we can hope for until financial restrictions are put into place, are mid-table finishes and a cup-run.

    But is that good enough?

Well if you don't think we'll be able to attract anyone later in the season why would we be able to now?

Actually, I knew a blind fella that bled to death trying to read a cheese grater.

Because we (had) a season ahead of us and the best start for years. Two days ago we looked like we were going places.

Stevie Wonder walks into a shop and starts throwing his guide dog up in the air and spinning tit over his head.

The shop assistant asks: "What are you doing Stevie Wonder?!"

Wonder replies: "I'm just looking around."

Christ that's a tough company to work for.

You have to check in your eyes before you start.

No, not come January, when we're low mid-table. Maybe i'm not explaining myself, it's been a long day!

Without the striker we desperately needed to sign, no!

It's obvious he's saying we could well strugle without the striker and end up in the thick of a relegation battle (tbh I think that too) come January and is a striker with the quality needed for the Prem going to be as reluctant to sign for a team struggling to stay up or a team that has just had a great start, sitting 6th in the Prem and only a striker short of continuing the great start?

We've just drawn with Arsenal (who admitadly are poor) and beaten 2 teams that we expect to finish confortably mid table yet you think that team isn't good enough to stay up. You all need to give the players we've got a lot more credit

I think you need to realise that expecting a team to finish mid table does not mean that they will, not one of the three teams we've played so far a won a game yet! Arsenal played us off the park but lacked a cutting edge, just like us. Our defence has looked great and the midfield average at best but it's up front where we all can see the problem (that includes Pardew) so we desperatley needed a decent striker! Goals win games, not expectations and wishful thinking!

I would like a quality striker but i don't see the problem with what we've got if we're aiming for somewhere mid table

I'll judge Ba when he starts eating but if he plays like he did for west ham then brilliant and as for Best. Well put it this way. Most of you would be happy if we signind Darren Bent. Bent adds **** all to a team other than goals. Best has a better goalscoring record than him (no i don't expect it to last forever) and can actually hold the ball up ect as well

Spurs played Champions League football last year. If a club has any shred of ambition they can push on, £35m of reinvestment could've pushed us onto the fringes of Europe.

But we have some how managed to attract players such as Cabaye & Santon, Obertan isn't to shabby either. Surely having these players in the team regardless of league position will add to attracting new players in January??

Said it before, plenty of peole on here weer over the moon when we signed Ba. Now cause we havn't brought anyone else in up front he's ****e and was only meant as back up!! What's the point of bringing players in if they don't meet the requirment.
Ba needs to be given a bit more of a chance before he's written, against Fulham he improved and played a part in Bests second.
Best deserves more credit as well, great work rate, puts himself about and scores GOALS.
Lets wait and see how we get on first before the doom moungers have us relegated.

Best start since 1995-96 and had we not conceeded the goal to Fulham it would have been the first time we had kept 3 clean sheets since 1901.

Could have been worse, could have blown all the money brucey has on 10 players now and only have 2 points from 3 games!!!!
