I'd be a bit pissed if I was a Brighton or Fulham fan. 2nd last with a 2-2 draw!

Thankfully Benteke is ****e. We’ve won. Away fans were excellent.

We are still a work in progress though, I don't think that we will regress from here but we may very well get better, who knows?
I think that this is my biggest bugbear with modern footy fans, they all want instant results, there is no patience or understanding any more, if there had been, Puel would never have been sacked IMO.

Twitter again, someone couldn't find anything about the game to moan about so picked up on the fact we wore black shorts, normally I think we would be using blue, but that was what Crystal Palace were using today.

As I said after the win at Brighton a win is a win and yet we all know MH and his backroom team know there is much yet to be done. In medical terms we’re in the recovery ward, improving but still getting over a long period of illness!! I’m sticking to my pre-season plan, if not at the match, keep all knowledge of it out of sight until the whistle has blown. Too many times I e been caught listening or watching this board when the match is on only to see or hear the opposing team score within 5 mins! Worked today and last Tuesday, but failed to keep to the plan in the previous two games. Well done lads!

I have a song to cheer us up.

    We were meh! doodoodoo,etc.

But really, it’s fine. This is a rebuilding season and a 13th place finish might be for the best.

You know the old gardening saying? Sleep, creep, leap?

This may be our “creep” year. We are a fairly youngish side. Let’s say the Lemina,PEH, Redmond, Vestergaard, Moi, McCarthy and maybe JWP, Stephens all improve a bit as the season goes on, ironing out their big flaws.

This gives us a solid if unspectacular core. Not enough for any large sides to pick off our best players.

Then next summer we get lucky and pick up a Mane to go with Ings. One of our improved players who does have superstar pontential—maybe Lemina, maybe one of McCarthy or Gunn— breaks out. A squad of hard-working average/slightly better players with 1-3 very good player and 1 great ones plus depth.. that’s a pretty typical Euro level side.

I expect he felt the pressure playing at SP. Most Palace fans I've spoken to about him said 'good riddance' when he left. Added pressure of wanting to look good and the recent England call-up might have meant he was overthinking.

England are short of quality strikers.

Ings for England by the end of the year.

Vardy retired the other day, so would not be a big shock as long as he keeps scoring.

I'm not sure how we won that but it sure feels good to be on the winning side and a clean sheet too. Perhaps Hughes is the next Koeman and we are going to get lots of squeaky bum clean sheet narrow wins and get into Europe!

PEH my man of the match, aggressive, tenacious and some beautiful distribution in addition to the goal. I think JV is an excellent buy and aside from letting Benteke get over Cedric right at the start he had him covered for most of the game. Hoedt played well too, here's hoping they get a good understanding. Redmond was excellent again, just needs to sharpen up his final ball at times but he is causing everyone we play plenty of problems. Ings didnt look 100% to me, movement not as quick and sharp as earlier games, hopefully they played him for the win and the int. break will get him right again as he was very good again. Needs a partner though, I'm still struggling to accept Long still our starting striker. Throw Gallagher into it FFS.

Could be a really important win against a side we need to be beating. Away points in the bag too. COYS.

He was excellent today for us, and when he came off momentum switched quickly.

He's got some Irish faerie magic only I can see through. You're all bewitched.

Momentum switched as soon as we scored Palace roared to life. And as soon as Long came off a chance fell to Charlie who won a penalty.

I'm not sure what Long does that makes him worthy of a starting spot. Three starts, absolutely nothing created.

Some people could find nothing to moan about today so picked up on the fact that someone moaned about the fact we wore black shorts instead of blue. FFS get a life who gives a **** what people moan about the world is full of miserable moaners and whingers.

Win a game away from home, still not good enough for some of us. Good grief.
