I wouldn't admit because I have never applauded a Sunderland goal in my life. I hate Krul just for joking at HT with Defoe after he scored that screamer.

Football's great and all that, but watching neutral is ****ing prozac and it's hollow if it isn't my team. We could turn into 1-0 arsenal of old and I wouldn't give a **** if we're winning.

We should have gone for the win and let them beat us 5-0 just for a Sky and Keyes.

I think I would have had a manic episode and lived like a hermit in a cave, licking the walls for sustenance and just hoping I remember which wall was the pee wall if my love of football revolved solely around Newcastle United... So kudos.

I personally think it's genuinely quite childish that people are physically incapable of applauding another team... Then again, I'm not throwing childish around as an insult, more an acknowledgement that childish is the actual culture of football and probably why It's fun. And I do like being childish.

I think I actually applauded all 3 goals when Sunderland won at St James' the time Vaughan scored an absolute stunner, because they were all ridiculous.

I think it's quite pompous to go round applauding other teams' fooball like some perverted hipster voyeur, but there you go :emoticon-0105-wink:

I would question my loyalties to football if I could applaud my rivals scoring goals against my team. I am obliged to respect your maturity!

I think it stems from the fact football isn't the be all and end all for me, Rugby Union Internationals and Cricket are games I enjoy more... particularly recently <laugh>

Sometimes I do wish fans of football could have that level of respect, but like I said, the childish nature of supporting a football team is probably part and parcel of the fun. Like I say, that isn't an insult.

It's called being a sports fan and an appreciation of sport. Or, in short, Sporting Behaviour.
