Steve McClaren’s side enjoyed their first victory of the season against Wigan last weekend and followed that up with a convincing win over Bristol Rovers in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening. Birmingham are still looking for their first three points of the season. Monk’s men have put in some promising displays this campaign and should have beaten Nottingham Forest in their last fixture, but they let a two-goal lead slip in the final 15 minutes. The R’s travel up to the Midlands with a good recent record at St. Andrews having won three of the last four games at Blues stadium scoring nine goals. Rangers opted to make 11 changes for the cup game in mid-week and one or two of those players will have undoubtedly given Steve McClaren a few selections headaches due to their impressive performances. It’s been a difficult start to the campaign, but another victory here could see QPR climb into more of a mid-table position before the season takes the first two-week break for international fixtures. please log in to view this image News from the Treatment Room QPR Out: Darnell Furlong Doubtful: Sean Goss Birmingham City Out: David Davis & Isaac Vassell please log in to view this image Man in the Middle Jeremy Simpson – Last season gave out 128 yellow cards, nine red cards and eight penalties in 32 Championship games. Interesting line up Nines, assuming Cameron is fit enough, would be interesting to see if BOS did enough to get a start. Good to see some selection dilemmas for a change. If Lynch has problems, can see Cameron being moved back and Luongo coming on in mid. Looks ok at the moment, hoping a little confidence is back and we can get our traditional 3 points from B’ham. Only a recent tradition I know, this is a chance for third straight away win there I believe. I could be wrong though
Cheers 9s What the hell is happening to our club? Cameron arrival praised like the coming of Jesus Could we not as a club sorted some of this out in July ? **** a Penguin no of us know what the team will do
Cameron will probably be on the bench Ian, I only put him in there to make us look a bit more solid away from home as Luongo seems well off the pace of late. You're correct we have won on our last two visits to St Andrews and need something today otherwise it's seven straight defeats on the road. Our last away point was back in April in the 2-2 draw with Fulham.
I think that now we have two proven championship goal scorers on board - an experience head in the middle of either midfield or defence, a player that can switch between roles will hopefully strengthen the team. I do not know too much about Cameron, I only hope that he can lead as that is something our youngish team need. With Rangel at the back, I have to admit surprise at the players brought in - however I am pleased with the quality and the experience they bring. Hope this all adds up to 3 points and maybe a clean sheet
Really strange the way you've changed from last year. Last season you would rip into almost anything negative said about the club. Now, you seem to be on a mission to repeatedly criticise everything about the club. Strange.
Given our stunning away record and this referee looks like a huge homer (get it?), I’ll have to predict a narrow 1-0 defeat. It’s a very winnable game though. They’re as bad as we are.
Apologies but I am having a hard time with our club at the moment. I am angry on how things have started regardless of Holloway etc. I find it difficult to look at just the next 90mins Yes there seems to be a upturn but the club has really mucked up overall It is what it is I know but the recent events have really damaged my confidence in our club ... the players don’t appear to me to be with the program and that after having a good preparation time. It will take time to get me hyped up about this current QPR set up ... my QPR mates and family are feeling the same This is the lowest point I can remember for QPR not re the championship position etc more to do with optimism I sincerely feel this is all wrong at the moment and I crave a fresh start ASAP It doesn’t help that I have never rated SM as a manager plus the football we are playing looks dreadfully short of the basics at the moment
We can get something from this game with that side. Presumably Cousins is in the holding role, Luongo pushes further forward to join Eze and Freeman with Wells playing off Hemed……. Sort of 4141......
After my 2/1 punt last week I’ve again gone for a Rangers win at 3/1 (doubled up with Derby at 7/4)...great odds
