That was a bad one I agree, I cringed because it was so inept - what happens when a player does not have brain in gear. He also resorts to man-handling when dealing with physically powerful opposition.

On the other hand - Bielsa picks him.

Maybe last night will have given Bielsa extra information. I think Pontus is better defensively but lacks the link up play that Cooper does well.

Happy to say IBWT
i would rather have pontus and sign another quality defender to play alongside him.Beradi has done well but he's only a stop gap for me.it will fallapart against a side that plays football such as Brentford .

Social media, including this forum, amuses me no end.

Bielsa is widely, if not unanimously, hailed as being a demi-god to us, and yet loads & loads of people think they know better than him about team selection. I think you'll find, for instance, that there's a very good reason that Bielsa selects Berardi & Cooper ahead of Pontus. Only Bielsa knows why. We can only guess. My guess is that he thinks Cooper & Berra are better than Pontus at this time. But then what does he know, he's only a demi-god! <doh>

happy to amuse you with our comments ,well mine anyway.i know a good player when i see one and Cooperman does not fit the part.

Well fortunately you don't pick the team. :)

Bielsa does, and I'd suggest that he might well be able to spot a good player too, and oddly enough, he thinks that Cooper does fit the bill :)

If Cooper was as bad as some say, he just wouldn't get a game. He does.

If Cooper was as bad last night as some suggest, he's have been pulled á la Phillips. He didn't.

Perhaps you can spot a player, but perhaps you can't spot a Bielsa-requirements player?

Trying to think of the quote from Bielsa last week which explains his tactics. There is no plan B if Plan A isnt working we replace players to carry on playing Plan A. Plan A wins more points than trying Plan B. All week practicing Plan A so why try Plan B and more time spent getting Plan A right. Something along those lines

Thanks for that. Now I’ve a headache

For me Cooper has absolutely no positional sense whatsoever, which is why he has to resort to wrestling with their forwards. Pontus is much better with this part of the game so why he wins so many headers and interceptions. Berardi was great with his tackling but needs to play to his strengths and keep it simple. His distribution isn’t good and in nearly every game he has passed to the opposition forward right in front of our last defenders, we’ve been fortunate they haven’t scored.

Did you enjoy the game you was watching, cos our game was brilliant.....:emoticon-0105-wink:

The way I look at it is as follows:

On the positive
  • We didn't lose;
  • We didn't let in any goals;
  • We didn't let Middlesborough close the gap;
On the negative
  • We didn't win;
  • We didn't score any goals;
  • We didn't increase the gap between us and Middlesborough;
That explains why it was a draw then.
<laugh>

I wouldnt expect Izzy to feature till the xmas time. Has a lot of learning to catch up on even when fit. Could be a great addition for January if were stumbling

You're probably right Eire, I know the commentator said he'd be recovering for about 5 or 6 weeks, but I think it'll be longer, plus, he'll find it hard to get in team by that time as everyone will have learned how to play with, and play off each other, especially those who need to get in sync with the likes of Alioski, Saiz and Pablo, and now Klich.

This is a bit of deja vue when you think of Taylor Roberts.
