Early team news: Defender Nathan Thompson is fit to return to first team duty on Saturday. Will he dislodge Anton Walkes at right back, or will he be named on the bench ? Dion Donohue is almost match fit, but probably not quite ready for this weekend. New loan signing from Aston Villa, Andre Green, will be in the first team squad, and may possibly start the match. It's a toss up between Oli Hawkins and skipper Brett Pitman to start the match up front. For Argyle, a likely league debut for ex-Pompey loanee Stuart OKeefe in midfield. He never did set Fratton Park alight whilst he was with us, and Kenny Jacket had no interest in signing him from Cardiff during the Summer. Ex-Pompey striker Ryan Taylor may be named on the subs bench, kept out by new signing Freddie Ladapoo. "Much loved" manager Derek 'Jimmy Krankie" Adams received a two match touchline ban, following his recent fracas with mild mannered Southend United manager Chris Powell (he was only banned for one match !), so will be missing from the bench However, ex-Saints player Paul Wotton who is assistant manager to Adams will be on the bench. He is the prat that mild mannered Paul Cook nearly thumped at Fratton Park a few years ago, after he made a rude comment to Cookie during a game. Finally, there are 600 more tickets now available in the Milton End for Pompey fans, due to Argyle not selling anywhere near their ticket allocation. Good news for us though, as there is always a better atmosphere when we have our fans in the Milton End by the South Stand
Looking forward to the match immensely, sensible Are you coming to Fratton Park on Saturday then ? You will like our young Irish winger Ronan Curtis, he is quite a handful to mark.
Sorry, don't do away matches so am never one of the travelling army. Although from your first post it would seem that the masses won't be as big a mass as normally might be expected. Over recent years the games have been a bit on the tight side normally but if you don't pee all over us this time with our form then you might need to take a serious look at yourselves. I'm not expecting great things from this if honest. I still live in hope though.
