1.agree 2. Piss easy group for city. they can play b team.in it. 3. reasonable group for spurs. I would expect 2nd. 4. we are.****ed. they can certainly beat us away. very good team.
Soooooooo.... Now that we've seen the groups. Imagine this situation: We finish 3rd (possibility) and then phone it in in the EL, Citeh go for the CL cause its the thing the owners really want to win, we win the League as Citeh focus more on the CL. Would people find that acceptable?
Missing the point. Their owners want to be a name in Europe, always have. I think they had an original target of Winning the CL after a certain amount of years, thus far they've failed to make any kind of mark on the CL, but part of the reason they brought in Pep was to do something in the CL and go for a win. Winning the CL and the PL in the same season has increasingly become an impossibility. So if they ever do want to achieve that primary goal of being more than European alsorans they'll have to focus on the CL at some point.

Think this years CL is actually quite open. PSG and Citeh must be looking at it and thinking they stand a chance, might help us in the league if Citeh do make a serious attempt to win it.
League cup horrid draw. Now if Chelsea have any fuvking sense thry will see that they cannotbplaynleague, Europa and league cup or they will implode so thry really should send weak team.... but Chelsea have not binned this cup in past. Lfc will have Matip, clyne, lovren morhorendeno, fabinho, shaqiri and lallana dying for a game. The only good thing that happened today was the home part of that draw.
Can try, but when was the last time an English Club won the Title and the CL in the same season. Its not like Spain or Italy or France where Barca, Real, Juve, PSG etc can rest large numbers of first team players against a lower table whipping boy, they could probably afford to rest the 'stars' against midtable clubs and still come away with wins. This season has already shown that in England, drop your levels against anyone and you'll drop points. Man City draw with Wolves despite having a majority of their best players on show, Man U lose to Brighton again with the majority of the best players playing.
I cannot see any team in EPL winning the domestic title and all the domestic cups and champion league. A team will be lucky to win the league and FA cup extremely lucky to win the champion league as well.
You are right it is really quite tough but we must remember that the quality in England wasn't up to winning any cl for a long time. If you look back England has a nice easy top 4 even with city up to 3 or 4 yesrs ago but the quality since.. 2010 or so has been poor. England in mid mid naughties were on top. Utd reached final in 2008, 09 and 11. Winning one cos Barca were a different class. In 2008 Utd won league and cl. 09 were 2nd 11 won it. So it's imo a case that the quality dipped and for a time last 16 was as far as English sides went. There's no reason to believe city cannot win league and cl but thry need to hammer the no top 6 sides and take most of their points there and focus on league and cl only. The reality is nobody else has a league cup and it is really just extra mile on clock at bad tines
Lucky or just be plain good? Frankly city imo were kicking themselves last season cos after we beat them the draw would have also easily put city In final and they would win it. They won two cups.
Exciting draw that. Love getting big team in the groups, PSG will be a real test and they wouldn’t have wanted us for sure.
