Did not realise Forest had bought in so many class players. Pretty good team, and outplaying Newcastle so far.
Seems as though DF has already decided that Godfrey is destined to be one of his CBs, but may also play him in other positions and had this to say about him - “In midfield you have less time so you improve your ball control in tight situations and your technique. “To have many games like Ben did is a big value for his future. 100pc, I can put him immediately in that position and I will be tempted to do this but longer term, he is a centre back for me.” http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...ls-world-class-potential-of-godfrey-1-5672611 Wasn't he another 'starlet' signed by AN??? Just appears he was USELESS at signing more senior players!!!
I assume he, as well as Madders, was tracked by our scouting team, rather than AN himself. Memory tells me we only paid 50K, with add ons, for him. Looks like York will get a bumper reward at some time in the future.
Anyone who wants to stream the Derby on Sunday - you can do for a one off payment of £10. Match passes can be purchased from the Ipswich site here and the Norwich site here.. If the links don't work, then they can be found on this article - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town-v-norwich-city-live-stream-info-1-5673945. I'll be in Lowestoft quaffing a few pints of
On the topic of Derby day, here's a piece that may rankle a Canary feather or two as we approach Sunday. No actual mention of our third placed finish - naughty girl! http://diaryofatractorgirl.blogspot.com/2018/08/ipswich-town-and-norwich-city-back-on.html?m=1
Long time no hear from the wilds of Carbrooke. Hope all is well with you and do keep posting on the forum
It might be an arbitrary distinction, but surely any awards and honours which predate your birth should be completely irrelevant to your fandom? Nobody under the age of 40 can honestly say that Ipswich's FA Cup win is an important part of why they're an Ipswich fan. Likewise I couldn't give a **** about our 1962 League Cup win. Judging by the twitter account of the author of that piece, she's somewhere between 27-35? Within her footballing memory, she might remember that 5th place PL finish - but that's the crowning achievement of "her" Ipswich. Let's face it, Norwich and Ipswich fans fighting over history is two bald men fighting over a comb. I have the greatest respect for Ipswich fans who have stuck with their club despite 15 dire seasons in a row, but for anyone under the age of 60 to try and claim history makes them sure Ipswich are a bigger club is laughable. To try and derive satisfaction from the fact that Norwich have finally joined the mid-table mediocrity that has defined Ipswich during her lifetime is nothing short of pathetic.
Liverpool Vs Chelsea in the 3rd Round of the League Cup! What a draw! If you're either clubs, you have to be gutted. Bad luck there. Especially when you see we get Wycombe.
I see what Southgate is trying to do. I like it. But. Welbeck!? Has he started a game? I know he scored 1, but he's not good enough to get into a shoddy Arsenal team! Where as Wilson has started the season on fire! Still no call up for him, call up "back up option" Welbeck. Shaw had a decent game against Leicester, didn't look great defensively, but he scored. Since then, He's not impressed. So another "He is at Man United" type call up. Llanna…..has he played 90 minutes in the past 2 seasons? I can't remember the last time I saw him play! Yet Madders... Also, Loftus-Cheek has been rotting in the Chelsea reserves. He deserves a call up too. Apparently.
I might be able to get a free ticket for the Under 21 V Holland at CR next Thu - JM should be playing!!!!
