Hes joined Grimsby till Jan. Thats a great bit of buisness for both parties.

Elliot Embleton has completed a loan move to Sky Bet League Two club Grimsby Town.

The England under-19s international, who made his first-team debut for Sunderland at Wolverhampton Wanderers last season, will move to Blundell Park until January 6.

Embleton has made four appearances in total for the first team, with his latest one coming earlier this month in the Lads’ Carabao Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Speaking about the deal, manager Jack Ross believes the loan will provide the youngster with the platform to take the next step in his career.

“I’ve spoken quite a lot to Elliott because I really like him,” he said. “Every time he has trained with me, he has got better, but he needs to be playing.

“I think in hindsight he probably could have done with this over the second half of last season, being out on loan and coming back in having played first-team games.

“I think it will be good for him, and it will just be until January in the first instance. It lets him get games at a senior level, and then we can assess it from there.”

With the midfield we have at present then it makes sense to give the kid some game time in a lower league.
I've got high hopes for Embleton and if he comes back a more experienced player then that's the way to go.

So long as he’s guaranteed some first team football it’s brilliant.

Someone remind me what position he plays in, is he the lad who scores long range goals on his left foot?

Hes a central attacking midfielder. He scored the goal for England U20s that was nomintated against Ronaldo for the Uefa goal of the seaon award.
Hes a huge talent. Hopefully him and Mumba will be playing for us in the Prem one day.

I hope this is a good move for him. I only ever seem to hear good things about him.
