Interesting comment from DF while dismissing the Dijon striker rumour: "I am totally pleased with my strikers. They are all able to score and we have some we have not used, like Nelson (Oliveira) or Carlton Morris, who we hope can return in a few weeks.”
Adam Idah with a hat-trick today vs WBA U23's. Spyrou added one for good measure. I really hope these young guns develop. https://www.wba.co.uk/news/2018/august/albion-pl2-0-norwich-pl2-4/
Be interesting if they were to be involved at some time this season. I assume as they have just played the Cardiff match is out of the question. Is Idah still 17? If so, his abilities are remarkable. Edit:- Just checked Google, he was born Feb 11th 2001 so still just 17. Has now scored 4 goals in 3 matches at this level.(U23). Spyrou was born in the last day of last century, so he is still 18.
I can see some point in the future when JMFan becomes AIFan, but AI could be artificial intelligence, could be artificial insemination as well. Best not JMF.
If we continue to stutter with results, the consolation could be concentrating on developing young players like Thompson, Godfrey, Cantwell, Morris, Aarons, Idah and Spyrou, as well as those currently out on loan, for the future.
Indeed Rick and I IM, we have some VERY promising young players and we have to hope that some of them should be able to make the step up. I'll be at CR on Friday to see the Under 23s for the first time this season. Looks like being a good crowd and looking forward to it. Tickets are still available and are FREE if you collect them from the shop in Chapelfield, or at CR.
It was great to see the other youngsters mobbing Aarons after his excellent goal. Hopefully he can emulate Lewis and push for a first-team place.
The title of the MFW article says it all - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...oor-for-inclusion-in-this-city-side/#comments Shame that DF sees Godfrey as a CB, and I know he regularly played in that position for the Under 23s in '16 - '17 season, but he's such a versatile player and I'm sure I saw a comment from Morris that he was even playing as a CM for a while at Shrewsbury!!!
Good article that. Usually these games are fairly meaningless (other than the fact a win is a win and may help morale), but in this case it's thrown up some genuine contenders for the first team squad.
Saw that recently. His goal rate is fantastic! Why doesn't this put him in or around the cup starting 11, that's annoying.
It's good question and there are probably a lot of answers to that. Srbeny needs the game time and Adam is still only 17. Still, it would be a nice gesture to name him to the 18-man roster. Not just a gesture because he's earning his way.
I have got that in mind to go. I couldn’t believe it’s free tickets. That’s decent of the club. If I don’t have to run my Dad to an appointment, I’ll be there.
