I believe Henrik Larsson was world class but not until the stewardship of St Martin.

I'd just go for: if you had to pick a world team, who would get in the squad of 24 players?
    3 goalies
    8 defenders
    8 midfielders
    5 forwards

Some English players who I think would have got in in their day:
    Gary Lineker
    Paul Gascoigne
    Peter Shilton
    David Beckham
    John Terry

When you guys are averaging 67.5 points per week in the fantasy football, a General Chat record, I might entertain debating with you.

A world class player is one who could walk into any team, anywhere in the world, at the time they were playing.

So English = Bobby Moore, Glenn Hoddle, Paul Gascoigne, Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, Michael Owen, Gordon Banks, Peter Shilton.

Norn Airlund hud George Best, so they did. So that's one more than Scotland.

Wales had John Charles, and Gareth Bale. Two more than Scotland. This thread is a tragic embarrassment for the OP.

The Paddies had Liam Brady btw. And Roy Keane, I suppose. **** that he is.

Apart from the fact Messi gets in that side and Christiano Ronaldo doesn't - which is a ****ing travesty - that list is pretty much spot on <ok>

It's a tragic embarrassment for you if you think Michael Owen was world class. <laugh>

Open reflection, I'll give you Dennis Law; knew there had to be one. So that's one.

I'll have you know that I don't include anyone under 16 in my Dead Sexy thread. Regarding the "legends" surely if they were that well known even a ***** like me would have heard of them?

    Just a mild hand grenade today;

I would suggest John Greig produced more important and better performances for Glasgow Rangers and Scotland than either of Davy Cooper and Jim Baxter.
