Well I think what this shows is we need to stick with Farke till we reach the prem as his record against prem sides is won 1 drawn 3 in 90 minutes
I voted win! Ok, it's only the cup, but against a PL side away we had 11 shots, 8 on target, 3 goals and it could have been more. Great night for Srbeny with two goals, Buendia had two assists, Stiepermann the other. Great game time for Zimmerman, Godfrey, Cantwell, Passlack and Aarons, who also got the third goal.
If they are good enough they are old enough , great result and a massive tonic after a depressing run in the league. A few of those kids will be pushing hard for the first team hopefully. I'll do the next mdt
One of the reasons I hope DF can turn it around is his ability to bring young players on. Maddison, Lewis, Cantwell, and Godfrey are certainly there and Passlack and Aarons are pushing hard as well.
Your guys thoroughly deserved to win that tonight. Looked dangerous every time you went forward. Totally different to how you surrendered in the Championship last season. At times you had to question which was the Prem side and who was in the Championship. Well done Norwich.
Incredible result. He rested players for the derby, but lookalike they did so much better than the “first team”. Surely throws selection up in the air. Starting 11 could be anything now, which makes it harder for Ipswich to prepare. You’d hope. I was impressed by Max in the Stevenage game, especially first half. Sounds like he was great again last night. He's impressing at LB, hopefully he gets his chance at RB. Buendia is someone who's potential and the unknown excites me. I'd love to see him involved in the Derby, even if it's off the bench to cause some trouble. A much needed boost before Derby day.
Nice to be proved completely wrong. Srbeney had scored only 1 goal in 19 games before tonight. He had acres of room so not under pressure. On to ITFC on Sunday but is this change in fortunes only fleeting?
That stat is a bit unfair on Srbeny. Apart from the Stevenage game where he played the whole 90, he's only played late sub roles this season. Don't know about last season tho. Definitely seems to have his moments.
Interesting response from DF when the reporter asks him about Aarons goal and contribution in the game around [1:30]... "Don't praise the young guys too much, he was solid"
McGovern made a few crucial saves , the one from the free kick especially. He could get back in the first team at this rate.
What a great guy. Debut goal against a PL side with a good performance in his second choice position. Hope he pushes on to follow Jamal into the first team.
