I'm beginning to think Slutsky was costing too much. The team were in the relegation zone, but they were still playing better than they are now (this season, not this game). My worry is that we are relying on kids who haven't played proper first team football for anybody of note to freshen up a side that is in a downward spiral. That can't be good for their development.
Afraid we arent though are we, we lost McGregor, Dawson, Clark, Larsson, Hernandez (albeit he didnt feature much) and replaced them with bargain basement, when you remove the spine from the team it crumbles. In fact we havent even replaced the forward we lost, and we know the other 3 aren`t a strikers arsehole !
Well I don't think Dawson was having that good a season, Clark was out of his depth. So there's only 3 there that we really miss, suppose Meyler is a miss too but he didn't feature much either.
Sorry but Sluts wasnt the answer, he enjoyed the attacking side of the game but didnt have a clue about organisation or defending, we were struggling big style under him, and i`m afraid he admit at the end he didnt know how to rectify it. But as i have said countless times, the moment Ehab thought he knew more about football the Bruce and ousted him, was the moment this club died and has spiraled ever since
Burke, Kane and Lichaj look alright as far as recent signings go. The rest look pretty poor. Stewart as part of the Robertson deal is absolutely appalling.
Can't understand why our players who won't be playing at the weekend don't crock the Derby players who would have been playing except they were crocked tonight - now that's a plan
Dawson struggled because he was having to cover for the likes of Hector messing up continually alongside him
I'm not saying Slutsky was the answer, but I've not seen anything from Adkins to suggest he's an improvement. I didn't at the time. I don't really now, although to be honest given the hand he has to play I can't really blame him.
Hard to understand the Stewart situation. Both Tottenham and Liverpool must have seen something in him so it's hard to see how he can be so bad in a poor championship side.
the sad thing is i suspect this will quite likely replicate the score and performance on Saturday tbh, they have rested 8 players, all which i suspect would walk in our team
