No. It's Mourinho ****ing about with the team to try and prove a point to the board. He's got previous for it and it's ridiculous; the window is shut, get over it and get on with the job ffs
well that was hilarious. Diego seriously embarrassed himself there too. imagine send on the clown to shore it up at 0-2 down and hoof it at him as a man Utd legitimate tactic. how the might have fallen.
Pep did well to rebuild Barca, they had lost their way and had broken from the philosophy. Then did well at Bayern, another struggling side. Fortunately for city they had the cash to help him rebuild too.
You wonder why they give him money whilst Mou is told to do one by the board. Lindelof cost 38 million. At 25 mil Lovren looks a bargain
In his post match conference (before running away screaming "respect me, respect me") he was asked about CB and said Rojo would be back soon
United’s woes trace back to Fergy Shanks left a great team, the boot room and his next TWO successors. Ferguson left a very average team and Moyes! Ferguson was a great manager Shanks was a great manager AND a great leader Utd need to build a new dynasty....as we know too well, this takes time - and the right men at the top. Money accelerates this but as we can see with Utd, it’s by far the only factor..... Mourinho is simply overseeing the last rights to the post Ferguson era - a massive rebuilding job awaits...
Lets be fair here. a) Utd tried a lot. their players put in effort b) pochettino got a hold of his underperforming players at half time and explained just how bad utd really were and how to beat them. spurs could have been 0-1 down at HT but should have won by 5 in the end. thats the difference. Did mourinho tell his back 3 to get in a line? cos frankly it was clear poch saw where utd were weak and where his own team were failing and made some changes in emphasis. c) Utd has no preseason for a variety of reasons. The biggest sin was mourinho not putting an 11 together in preseason and gradually ease in one or two returning players as the season started. he is simply chopping and changing. Mctominay.... no chances under mourinho really. was available form start of preseason? sanchez? mata? smalling? shaw... Just get it together and build on it. Lukaku isn't right for example but was right back in instantly.
Lets be fair to ferguson. he built several teams over several eras. Lets look at shanks. His first team aged on him and it was 7 years between titles. He learned form that but so did paisley. Paisley rebuilt that team at least 3 times. If you look at what Kenny left.... well... souness didn't do it right but he had whelan, molby, barnes and nicol well past it. and several others like grobs. We were not ready for that transition of power and kenny hadn't rebuilt his own team. It has been one series of errors after another for us. With brief periods of lucidity and talent like rafa. The issue for me is Ferguson was ahead of his time in the 1990s. he was building teams of athletes, far fitter and able to go but by the end his 442 with two wide men was done and dusted. he never really replaced ronaldo and certainly never found anyone near to scholes. Utd have bought poorly under 3 managers now. you have to wonder just who picked players at times as well.
LFC 1990/91. GK: grobellar (soon to be done for match fixing) would have been considered in his prime in 1990 i suppose. not quite mid 30s. RB: Nicol. world class but lost it after hillsborough. was hammering the bottle. Sadly. he was 30. absolute brilliant player LB: burrows/staunton. half decent lbs. CB: hysen. 32. classy player but arrive late in his career CB: ablett/venison CM: mcmahon. beast. turned 30 in 1991. CM Whelan. also 30 in 1991. fine passer. Molby 28 in 1991 but already portly and injury prone LW: barnes: 27 in 1991 absolute in prime. RW: houghton. same 27 in his prime probably AT: beardsley again in prime. AT: Rush. should be in his prime but was prob just past his absolute peak. Really kenny's issue was he walked out on this having built it and having made some really poor buys like speedie, rosenthal (who did ok breifly) and carter. Souness took this and bascially ****ed out beardsely and staunton for no good reason at all. Barnes got injured and the CMS and CBS were over the hill. We should still have had this brilliant attack that kenny build and souness should have focused on CB and CM and got that really right and continued the dominance.. he didn't. The signs were there for us. Defenders and midfielder has past their best.
I think it is now a matter of time. It wouldn’t surprise me that the club’s hierarchy are already looking at replacements and discussing severance payments. The more they lose the more Mourinho’s position becomes untenable and I think the next match is crucial. If they lose they will pull the trigger. No excuses. If they win they might prolong the agony and keep him longer. One thing for sure they won’t repeat the example of Chelsea when it was too late for them to rescue a European place.
Now clearly for sarcasm is evident here. Its obvious pep didn't do what he was hired to do at bayern and in many ways he made them worse if anything. He will won 2 doubles and 3 leagues in 3 years.. which is the expected minimum at bayern. He didn't win the CL. Barca with respect were a mess after koeman and he brought in young players which was why he was appointed. Busquets as a prime example If you look at city they have spent vast sums but look at how pepe has transformed players like aguero and sterling. Aguero was a pure goal scorer. new he presses and works for the team AND scored goals. Sterling is still **** in front of goal but has been transformed as a player form the ****bag who left us. Pep makes players better... period. Both men are in a position where they get the best players and so acheive great things but the difference between mourinho and pep is pep makes players better. mourinho just uses them up.
My point was that shanks left an infrastructure to ensure success for 3 managers after home...every great leader ensures this. I am not being critical of Ferguson’s management - how can I be? I am, however, being critical of what he left behind.
He did but Ferguson was there that long all his assistants left him to try be managers. IMO once the portugese lad left he never brought really another guy in to be that. I would argue that paisley built and it was the back bone there that ***an but passed straight on after 1 year to dalglish who added his forwards to. Fergusons problem was he stayed too long them played kingmaker with an awful appointment. He left a bad manger choice in with a team that wasn't right. Utd it could be argued were already 3rd best behind city and cheslea when he did go. they ended up 7th. both choices since have been struggles for fans to engage with in van gaal and mourinho. I don't understand their rationale for picking players of managers TBH. Cheslea can lay their hands on any manager they want and it works for a while. Neville called it chaos but they deliver trophies. Sarri is the latest one and i predict they will win something again this year. Right now If i were to try name Utd best 11 I would struggle and utd fans would disagree as they've been brain washed IMO they should do this: De Gea Valencia Bailly Jones (that how bad it is) Shaw Matic Pogba Rashford Mata Sanchez Lukaku this won't be good but.... their best player is mata not pogba but pgoba proved that if bothered he could play there at world cup. As we speak LFC have a much better first team line up primarally cos the players fit together, look at that Utd team. There are players who are not up to it and players shoehorned into it.
They were second last year. A bit of a false position, but still easily top 4. They have some very good players at the club who are being hopelessly mismanaged. The obvious and immediate problem is Mourinho, but it may go deeper than that.
there will be a difference with us in that Jose was a legend for us and had just won the league so we gave him a chance to redeem himself (like Klopp did with Dortmund). It's the only reason Abramovic gave him so long. I'm guessing woodward will be more ruthless with united if he gets them into that position
Fergie left United with a very poor team (which he dragged to a title). It was old and slowing down (whether that was restraints financially on him or he just didn't want to buy) but he's left United in the strongest possible position financially. MITO is right, it was his appointment of Moyes that's done it in for them but not other club has the facilities or the spending power that United have and that's down to Fergie and the name he built for United
