I turned the TV to a ViaSat station that had scheduled this game and purported to be showing it, but in fact were showing a PSG game. I suppose they decided late Paris were more attractive than Rotherham, but I'll be well pissed off if they do that with one of our games.

Good to see McClaren in better spirits.
Amazing what a win does for you.
Now if only we could work on that melon.

    Different football Col imo
    Watch Burnley as an indicator
Championship is unique imo competitive yes but not what I call football
I watch a fair bit of French Spainish football live and on TV and generally players much more composed... wealth of talent I see

Certainly English players wouldn’t be able to cope in many of the leagues you mentioned

    Different game play mate

No idea which is best but very different

Was going to watch Girona last night v RM but couldn’t make it in the end but Girona are doing very well indeed but fell heavily against the superstars

I am delighted by Burnley’s struggles in both Europe and the PL. Nothing much against the club, but I don’t like Dyche, one of those ‘I’m underrated because I’m English’ whiners like Allardyce. I was chuffed when my wife read his name on a caption and said ‘Sean Dick? Really?’ Obviously the correct pronunciation. He and McClaren are rivals too, according to bob Mortimer.

He is underrated because he’s English though. He’s done a remarkable job there and before at Watford.

The Russian considering selling Chelsea. I’m hoping Mike Ashley is interested.

I agree he has done a great job with limited means, I just don’t like him. How do you think he would do at a big club where good football is required?

Don't necessarily disagree with some of that.
I said strongest, not best to watch.

What is undeniable about all of the English leagues is that there are no ‘gimme’ games, the vast majority of the time teams are fully committed at all stages of the season, and while quality will usually come out on top, nothing can be taken for granted and upsets are frequent. When I lived in Italy Serie A was the strongest league in the world, but only the top 5 or 6 teams were seriously competitive, a lot of games were foregone conclusions.

Difficult to say. I think he’s smart enough to adapt to make the most of whatever group he has. He’s got more about him than Moyes did a few years ago IMO. Same with Eddie Howe.

I watched them at Watford last season in a game where individually they were well below par but you could just see how well drilled every player was in every situation. Maybe it’s easy to be impressed after what we’ve got used to.

I like both Howe and Dyche
    Southgate also
I believe the U.K. has some excellent managers but mostly suppressed by the image of football today

RH tops the lot for me as he does have the minerals to rise from a fall

No keen on our bloke however

I actually think Burnley will go down with Huddersfield and Cardiff. Southampton under Hughesy to just scrape out of it. Pains me to say it, as some of their fans are taking great pleasure in where we are at the moment, but Fulham will finish top half of the Premiership

I think the image of how to play the game has changed immensely over the last few years in this Country.
Southgate adopting a more fluid shape based on possession has moved things on even more imo.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all to see a gap form quite quickly to the bottom five or six with Hudds and Cardiff falling away further.

Uncle Neil still not scored a goal. I backed Southampton at 20/1 to score the fewest.
