i haven't read most of the thread so don't know if this has been said, but the reason the PL is better than the SPL is because the team that got beat 8-2 would win the SPL, La Liga is in a much worse state than us and probably slightly worse than SPL but still the quality of football, even in the lower teams, is better than the SPL's, there are leagues like the Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 where it is more open but there aswell they don't have the same amount of quality the PL has.

Take nobody watches uefa / Europa cup finals when poor Spanish teams a Madrid and seville have met English teams recently in the final they have wiped the floor with them. Barcelona proved in the champions league how far Spanish football is ahead of English football . The most completed passes between man utd players was the goalie with the central defenders !!!

They also waste money on Scouts. They're are all ex players whose mates are managers etc nepotism/cronyism is rife.

New Chief Scout at Palace (ok not EPL, but close-ish), Steve Kember, 1st thing he does? Pretty much invites the 1970's Leicester City midfield to join in the scouting fun and fill their boots.......

Also, one European competition per club per season. No, two bites of the cherry! <grr>

Its always been a two horse race, football is still fine so long as you can afford it. I now find that even when I can afford it I am growing away from it, its not what I grew up with, no terracing, and season tickets to me no good, siting in the same seat and all that, no no no. I left the house on Saturday at 2pm, drew 30 quid out the cashpoint, started driving to the stadium, got half way and thought "give over, 30 quid on a days league game, grow up" I went back home, bought some cinder toffee from the shop, gave the kids a tenner each, and watched a match on my pc.

I could have saved two quid on the cinder toffee as well, all it is is sugar and bicarb...ffs, Im not paying that again for fking sweets.

The above photo is Ayresome Park before it all got over nasty and the fences went up etc, but the ground ran as a ground should, the minted business types sat in the main stands, and people who wanted no frills stood on the terrace, you can see it in the photo, thats not on offer now, so they can poke it, wake me up when they have sorted it back out.

Congratulations on not aspiring to sectarianism. Just stick to destroying and theiving your own communities. Well done.
