Probably the best game I ever witnessed at Filbert St, the night we beat Liverpool 3-2, Keith Weller scoring a hat trick after we went 2-0 down.

I was only young at the time but the article brings back fond memories, anyone else see it ?

    Really enjoyed reading that.

It's just a shame no footage of the game exists, it's a match that Leicester fans who remember it always go on about. Would be nice if the younger generation could know a bit more about Leicester's former sides and notable matches.

Bit to young to remember that game against Liverpool, but I rememeber the 3-3 in the 80's, that was a classic also, gods how we drew, theyt had all those stars Dalglish, Rush, Lee, Souness, Hansen etc.

Pretty sure Peake scored for us and maybe Lineker?

that was one of those great floodlit filbo nights
bloomfields team were genuinley top class and in these days of champions league and europa leagu we would have been european regulars.
the bloomfield squad is up there with gillies and oneill as our best ever squad---lets hope sven can add his name to0 that illustrious list.

I was there that night. It's probably the best individual performance by a city player I have ever seen. That was a great Liverpool team but Keith ran them ragged that night. Great memories.

I was there that night what a great advert for football, another game I remember a 4-3 win over Man City in the F A Cup at Filbo, with Frank Large causing havoc must have been around the late 1960's

From the clips I've seen of them they'd all be first choices in the England team without question, so you're looking at more than Milner and Carroll went for.

In fact considering England were so **** in the 70s and never qualified for anything I don't understand why they weren't all first choices then.

They would have been first choice in any team, plus Wallington, Whitworth, Rofe, Cross, Sammels, Garland, Kember fantastic times down at Filbo, better than the O'Neill era in my eyes even though they didn't win anything.

Oh and the England team of the time was actually very good, in fact the 1970 team was arguably better than the the 1966 team. And that game in 1974 against Poland OMG how did we not win that.
