hi fellas! another top day of racing awaits us,so heres my verdict for the first three events, respectively from goodwood, york and cartmel. goodwood,1 30: EMERALD APPROACH looks much the safest option here, after running a race full of promise on her debut, and the winner has accredited herself well in the big sales race here this week.so,with more progress nearly assured, shes the one. york,1 50: STRENSALL STAKES well, lord glitters is the class act here, after running so well in the sussex stakes, and also on many other performances, but the odds are pretty short,so i d rather go e w with the unexposed SENIORITY,who won really well in a valuable handicap last time out,and the second has already franked the form with a win here this week.this is obvioulsy anther step up for him into group company, but he looks very progressive, and the yard is in grand form at present.so,looks a very solid e w player.. cartmel,2 10: there doesnt look to be much between the leading players here, but THE STEWARD has been knocking on the door consistently lately, and the form of his last two races is working out well, with plenty of winners surrounding him.so,with the yard being local here, and brian hughes in the saddle, should go well again..
Some meagre fare today but with the weather set to be inclement I hardly expect bumper crowds at any of the meetings. The big race over at Goodwood, the Supreme Stakes, does look like a match between Breton Rock and DREAM OF DREAMS, third and second respectively in the Hungerford eight days ago. The latter has won at Lingfield and, if the rain comes, has won on soft ground; and does appear to be progressing with each run. The former has won on heavy ground but does appear to be running the same race every time these days. It is hard to make a case for last year’s winner Dutch Connection, who has been well beaten every race this term. I expect that Cardsharp may try to make all here but he has been behind Dream Of Dreams before this year so an obvious danger to all would be the three year old filly Anna Nerium, if she is fit enough and not just using this as a warm up for another target on Irish Champions weekend. I am expecting Zagitova to win the Debutante Stakes at The Curragh as she was vanquished on debut by Prestige winner Antonia De Vega. That will set Moore up for a double with Anthony Van Dyck in the following Futurity. Curiously, there are no British runners in either race. Have we got a hard border problem already or has the Pope banned us heathens from the Emerald Isle?
hi fellas! after a fantastic week of racing, its back to the more bread and butter stuff today,at least in britain, and i hope,i can find some value.. beverley,2 10 on paper(and on official ratings),this looks a clear-cut story for the classy withernsea, who hasnt shown much recently, but to be fair, ich much harder races, but i think,ACRUX,his main rival, can go well.although not so strong the last twice, his last win is working out really well, and he can give the hot fav a race for his money today..
goodwood,2 30: the majority of this lot is pretty exposed, but not so DEMURRER,who might be a fresher horse than most, after only two starts this season.and his win first time out looks much better now, after some of those behind franking the form.but even his 4th last time out makes him a respected contender,as he wasnt far away there.so,good chance in a rather poor race..
Competitive looking card at the Curragh but with the Pope in town I feel like a couple of wagers and a few beers in solidarity!!! 2.35- Lady Kaya won over C&D last week without breaking sweat and looks a nice prospect. This looks much tougher now upped in class against a AOB hotpot but I think she will go very close and have taken a slice of 4/1 4.15 -Julienne makes her hcapp debut for young Joseph who this race last year and looks very well bred, not massively confident on this one but going to take a risky punt for her to oblige at 4/1
sadly a NR now. beverley,2 40: the best recent form may well be supplied by CONUNDRUM here.he stepped up on his debut 5th with another promising run, also in 5th,and was only half a length behind the winner of this weeks convivial stakes at york.this looks by far the best form here, unless one of the debutants is above-average..
beverley,3 15: my first thought here was to give snazzy a chance to redeem herself, after some below par efforts, but the thriving PRINCESS POWER already had her measure at HQ last time out,and in receipt of some pounds again, should confirm the form.the form also looks very solid,as the second that day(ginger nut)just won the big sales race at york this week.so,if able to kick oin again, has a big chance for the 4 timer today.another positive is that shes a course and distance winner already, which is a big plus here..
goodwood,4 10: a decent field. i quite like the look of ANNA NERIUM here.ok,shes a bit in and out,but has shown on more than one occasion, what she can do,when on a going day.wasnt beaten that far in the coronation stakes behind the likes of alpha centauri and co last time out.so,not underrated here..
goodwood,4 45: GIVING GLANCES has more to do,in stronger race, and has shot up the ratings, but on the other hand, has much less to prove on the well-being front than some of her rivals,as sh is in top form at present.big shout!
Let us start a campaign to abolish the Autumn Bank Holiday altogether. The racing is absolute drivel because they can put on any old Class 5/6 donkeys on a BH weekend. The pubs use it as an excuse to get rid of the crap beer that nobody would normally drink, but BH p*ssheads will pay for anything. So here I am waiting for my mate who is not getting the bus until it stops raining where he lives 5 miles away... The weather forecast was total pants. The going at Goodwood is Soft and I could not even see my horse lose as the picture was just a grey screen - and the bookies did not even know the race was off! Well done jumpsfan on finding the winner but you must have x-ray vision because I saw bugger all of the race in Paddy Power.
thx a lot, mate!well,no,i havnt, but at least shortly before the winning post, the right horse was in front, lol!!
