We'd must be having a laugh if he thinks he is anywhere near as good as VVD, I won't have him in my first team let alone comparing him to his compatriote
I said it last season that Hoedt reminds me of Titus Bramble. Would in general be very good for 90% of games but then have a huge error in him that would undo all his good work for the game. He is still young and hopefully can improve and keep consistency for the whole 90, he hasn't started this season well though. Still think there is potential in him though and wouldn't be writing him off just yet.
He doesn't claim to be as good as VVD in the article and admits he found the EPL hard to adapt to. He expected to play alongside Virgil, but then found it was all a bit strange when he got here...I suppose he meant because Virgil had half a foot out of the door. Must have been unsettling for everyone. The problem for Hughes is does he switch CBs around and look at all of them in every combination or does he stick with a formation and give them a chance to settle in....he hopes. I hope poor Maya doesn't get left out....I know he usually has one Yoshi moment per match, but he deserves a chance.
I remember the 1st few times seeing hoedt play.looked very good. Seems to have had a bad spell.sure he will improve in time. Lemina is the player i am most dissapointed with . There have been a few games were he looks like a top class player, but alot of the time he looks like he cant be bothered
Hoedt admitted he started well...I suspect he is better playing shotgun to a more skilled CB...but struggled when things began to go wrong and the pressure was on him. Hopefully Vestergaard steps up and helps improve our other CBs' confidence...no pressure there, Jan. I agree Lemina is a disappointment....he looked very promising at the start, but very average now. Someone should tell him that if you don't shine at Saints, no big club will come in for you.
Against Utd last season Lemina was fantastic.....but since his injury he hasn’t reached those displays again. Hopefully he will come good again.
