Hurt today, the defeat showed up the obvious deficiencies we currently have. Our squad isn't threadbare, its got holes in, there's no cover for any position. Whoever goes down that's it, no on but a kid from the U23's or U18's to step into his boots. We have no squad to cover the bench and worse than that we have no bench to cover the starters. Some would argue that many of the starters today should be ones supporting from the bench. Not going to single anyone out because all the players are doing the very best they can and they have my respect but I'm sure you can pick 4 maybe 5 starters who, in a world of supportive owners, should be starting from the bench. So, we can't cover our striker unless we move someone whose been missing the net for fun, from midfield to up top. To cover that move we bring on a player who should still be in rehab or at least started light training. Pushing Fer as we are you have to ask, how long is he going to last into the season pushing his recovery this way. We have NOBODY to cover him if he goes down injured for any length of time. We're pushing Rodon too, we're expecting him to play 2 games a week when his body hasn't even stopped growing yet. Keep doing that and its inevitable his young body is going to break down at some point. To get to Christmas relatively intact imo, without finding ourselves in a relegation battle, the CONsortium must loan the bare minimum of two players. They must have experience playing at Championship level or above and be ready to go. The players have to give Potter a choice to make, either start them or bench and nothing else would do.The players have to give Potter the options that kids wouldn't. Wood was an ideal choice, experienced and battle worthy at this level and Potter would have had a choice because he was good enough to make Potter think, but they let him slip right into an oppositions changing room where he and Joe Allen will run riot imo. What the consortium has done though is exactly what it shouldn't have, gone and signed another kid, this time at center back. a 20yo, untried, untested American. Anyone remember the last untried, untested American they signed? of course you do. Now then, the consortium has less than a week to save our season imo. They have to bring in some experience, if its not to be a beauty, like Woods, then it has to be a beast, like Charlie Adams. He or his like would offer protection to our midfield and would look out for our young and slight midfielders, Celina, Assoro, Carroll, Mckay and Dhanda when he plays; none of them could fight their way out of a paper bag and also, one bad kick to Fers ankle could take him out for weeks so, if no skill then grunt will have to do imo. But the Consortium has to sign someone otherwise it'll be over for us by Christmass imo and also they must NOT SELL OR LOAN DYER OR ROUTLEDGE, both have the experience to playa valuable role this season.
I only had to read the first paragraph to start clapping bang on mate!! These lads looked burnt out all ready.
I have a good old belly laugh at the idiotic comments on here I show them to proper swans fans who understand football and they cant believe your are swans fans They are right of course and its lucky that only a very small minority think like the idiots on here.... Not all but they know who they are
You dont go to games you twat. Proper fans that go to games unlike you. Get back in your box and stop flip flopping Huw. Answer your post that you did last year, if you can’t find it I will tag your name on it and I’ll wait your response.
Well Stumpy makes all the correct observations, you just know we are going to get the injuries, and when that happens we are screwed, I'm sitting in my Boing 737 waiting for takeoff, extended sunshine for me!!!..I leave you with Dai....
Seems a little bit doing the rounds that Narsingh is possibly off to AEK Athens for around 2 million euros. So begs the question, what's happening with Routledge & Dyer, because if they're not away, they should be available for selection, whether people think they're spent forces or not?? Potter's troops are spread so thinly. If they're not, fvckin get them out sharply, so we can get some cover. Just wish this contemptible board would do something.. I mean, the window shuts Friday & there are no rumours of names coming in right now on Sunday, 5 days before. Carter-Vickers was doing the rounds for almost a week before he was over eventually the line yesterday. "We tried our best, but time caught up with us & we couldn't get the paperwork finalised!!"...
Dyer could have put in a better performance yesterday than the one we we saw from Asoro , blindly running into trouble with little end product..I don't think he got past their left back all game
The club is starting to look like it is being run like Newcastle but with less income from gate receipts, again highlighting the travesty in squandering the Premier League riches and failing to extend the Liberty.
Admittedly, what I've seen of Asoro, there doesn't appear to be much there yet!! Early days I know, but Wayne & Nathan would offer so much more at this level. In my opinion, they both should've gone seasons ago, but they haven't, so ether make them available, or ship out. Give Potter a chance..
The ‘official’ attendance was 20,522. That must have included every single season ticket holder - whether they were there or not.
I would say that Dyer can still cut it, but Routs legs have gone from what I see, why we are not thinking outside the box is beyond me, considering our circumstances. ... Kalaspera from the Georgioupolis Jacks, once a Cretan Jack always a Cretan Jack!........
Well I'm a season ticket holder and I wasn't there because I've been smothering with a cold for the last few days and didn't feel up to it but did watch on line which gives you a different perspective but the same conclusion as a lot of posters.
