So KJ has signed N'Guessan on a permanent deal, Feeny from Bournemouth and Simpson is back on loan again after being our player of the season back in 07/08. From what I saw of N'Guessan he looks a good pacy player so if he stays free of injury a good signing. Feeny I know nothing about but as a winger will be challenging Henry and Bouazza for a place. Simpson was awesome when we previously had him and is still only 22, he is on loan with a permanent deal planned if he can prove himself so a brilliant signing if he re finds his form. No defensive additions made but given the choice I would rather have attacking players signed, as has happened. No Le Fondre, Rhodes, Townsend or Puncheon but overall I'm fairly happy with the squad we now have. Which leaves us with the question of what our starting 11 will now look like, clearly depends on opposition and whether we're home or away but would like to hear your thoughts all the same Squad to choose from: 1 Forde · 2 Dunne · 3 Craig · 4 Purse · 5 Robinson (c) · 6 Trotter · 7 Henderson · 8 Bouazza · 9 Marquis · 10 McQuoid · 11 Batt · 12 Hackett · 13 Allsop · 14 Henry · 16 Barron · 17 Mkandawire · 18 Ward · 19 Racon · 21 Smith · 22 N'Guessan · 23 Mildenhall · 25 Gallagher · 26 Abdou · 28 McLaren · 29 Stewart · 30 O'Brien · 33 Alabi · â Feeney · â Simpson ·
Like you say, it is dependant on a lot of things, but at the moment I wouldnt change too much, just the front pairing. Once injuries and suspensions come in (as they already are) then it is time to make some adjustments. Looking at what our bench will look like now, we have a lot more strength in depth, which I think KJ was hoping for yesterday. If all players are fit and available, then I would start with: GK - Forde LB - Craig RB - Dunne CB - Robbo (C) CB - Ward LM - Bouazza CM - Tam CM - Trotter RM - Henry ST - Henderson ST - Simpson
i would like to see Simpson alongside Hendo as he seems to lay off a lot of chances and Simpson could be the man to tuck them away
i would like all 3 to have a starting apperance at least once to see how they fair i liked nguessan in the forrest game (even when reports say he was playing in that match with a hamstring strain and battled through) so when hes fit he could be better with our teams goal chance creation jsimpson is the poacher we need in light of our low chance to goal conversion feeney i don't know much about but happy to see another player either way for the starting 11 same as saturday on cold blow lane unless other players prove themselves better
3 decent signings (although I've never seen Feeny play). I think our starting 11 will not change for now but KJ will just have more options from the bench and competition for places
Have to agree as Hendo laid a lot off with header flick ons against Barnsley so Simpson would benefit with his pace.
Might as well leave Purse out of the selection Which wing does Feeney play? Some comments from the Bourny fans said £200k was too cheap and that he was a good player so he should be useful. Time will tell. Surprised and glad N'Guess was made permanent though too. A defender would have been nice but maybe no one to improve the squad could be found and doubt 'Friend' was available
I know what you mean tommy, at the Barnsley game I was surprised Fordey being dropped for Southampton was only a one game kick up the arse as I'd have given Milders a run in the team.
Fair point MFC apart from the heart in mouth moment when he flapped at their corner in the first half
and the pathetic throw out to Stewart......but it's easy to keep a clean sheet when the opposition don't even try to shoot!
Well unlike with other positions if you're going to change the keeper then I feel you have to stick with it as switching just unsettles the defense. Now I'm not saying that Mildenhall isn't a better keeper as I've never seen him play! So if KJ decides to pick him then it's unfair to then change back again.
